Brachina Beetle Gland

Kelakhan isn't happy with how long you were gone. He still needs your help, though, to continue with the experiment. It's back into the labyrinth again to collect one more acid gland.

Quest text[edit]

You have received 150 silver .

Kelakhan tells you, Well, I would ask what this thing is made out of but I'm not sure I want to know. Oh you have a box of glass vials for me? I had just sent away to Jynasix for a shipment of them. Take this as payment, it might be more than they are worth, but it's certainly cheaper than what he would have charged. It's no wonder he boasts such a large hoard. Flame that drake's prices! Leave that...thing here with me, I need to inspect it. Go get another gland so we can burn some more holes in my floor. Do try to be more prompt this time hmm?

Kelakhan grumbles about hoards built on extortion rackets and price gouging, all the while grinning at the Vanguard of Nature's Breath..

You have looted 1 Brachina Beetle Gland.

After taking your aggressions out on this poor beetle you ever so carefully remove the gland, giving yourself a new burn scar in the process. These beetles sure know how to add an insult to injury..

Kelakhan tells you, You have it? Well let's get this over with. I hope you have your Adamantium Tool Claw, that's the only way we're getting that acid in there. Take a deep breath and pour friend, I'll keep my talons crossed for you.

Oh, how unfortunate it seems to be burning up. No, wait, it's holding! Wait a moment let's be sure, move your feet, it would be a shame to lose a toe over this. By the Eternal Flame and skies above, it worked.

The flagon smokes for a solid minute and it seems to get a bit lighter. In the end though it holds and the acid sloshes around inside, contained at last. Your tool claw made it out unscathed also, things are looking up..

Kelakhan tells you, The time for rejoicing is over. Now it's time for more work. Don't frown like that, I'm certainly not letting you drink that as is, even if you had planned on it. Dragons don't commit suicide and that is what drinking that would be for certain. As it is, with all the distilling and things I'll be mixing in there may be a chance the Flask of Distilled Acid will be fatal. Fortunately that chance is slim. Speak to me again when you have prepared.
