You have located the burial chamber of King Dralnok Hammerfist, but the foul energies and magics of the Withered Aegis have brought him back as a ghost and now he and his Fallen Guard stand between you and the Hammer of Kings.

Quest text[edit]

We have located the burial chamber of King Dralnok Hammerfist! But the foul energies of the Withered Aegis have disturbed his slumber. His spirit and his Fallen Guard stand between us and whatever relics lie within the burial chamber.

  • We need to put them to rest.

Speak to Corporal Dalmor

I won't dare to raise my axe against Lord Dralnok, even in his death. I'm sorry <player>, it's a task you need to do alone.

Defeat the Risen Ghost of Dralnok Hammerfist and his Guard

Game Feedback: You have sent the ghosts to rest. You can enter the chamber now.

Defeat the Spirit of Dralnok

Game Feedback: You have defeated the ghost and returned the King to his place with Brobbet and the Grand Tribunal!

Defeat the Fallen Guard

Game Feedback: You have defeated Lord Dralnok's Fallen Guard and returned them to their eternal slumber!

Enter the Chamber of Dralnok

Game Feedback: The spirit of Dralnok stands in the Chamber. Speak with him.

Friend, I do not know what brought you to this evil place, but you have my eternal thanks. Your spells and steel freed me from a prison of foul magics, one in which I was able to see and hear, but not control my own actions. Now I might finally reach Brobbet and seek out his Justice before the Grand Tribunal.

  • You are most welcome. I have been searching for you.

Indeed? Before I depart, there are matters to discuss. I fell in battle, <player>, and was buried here by the remaining members of the Iron Guard. Death awaits all within these caves! The venom of the creatures can be deadly! But even worse, there are Mylocs here in these caves. I do not know for what purpose, but you can rest assured it will not benefit the Living Races in any shape or fashion. Someone must be warned of this threat!

  • Mylocs?

Yes, foul creatures whom employ powerful magic that can rend the spirit. One moment more, <player>. Buried with me in this place was the Hammer of Kings! An heirloom of the Dwarven people and a powerful Artifact that must not be left here in the Deep or stolen by the Withered Aegis. Take it, <player>, and return it to my people so that the line of Kings may continue. One more thing, please.

  • <You take the Hammer of Kings.>

Game Feedback: You have recovered one of the heirlooms of the Dwarven people! And you have discovered the Fate of Dralnok Hammerfist, last of the Dwarven Kings. You should return with these at once to Gulnor and Jarthur in Aughundell.

Speak with the Spirit of Dralnok Hammerfist

I carried with me another artifact, <player>, one which must eventually be recovered. The Thom'Dorogath, or Axe of Demons as it is called in the common tongue. It was loaned to a traveler who by chance met us as we ventured into these caverns; a member of the Protectorate, Ganesh Hulgrath. Gulnor will know more of the whereabouts of Ganesh and the Axe. Fare thee well, friend, and safe travels.

Hail, <player>. You have the look of one who has discovered something of great importance.

  • I found the burial place of Lord Dralnok.

Lord Dralnok you say? You found him? Dead, yes, we all feared as much. Was he buried in stone?

  • His guard built a chamber in which he was buried, in the caverns beneath Delgarath.

Return to Aughundell with word of Lord Dralnok's Fate and speak with Captain Jarthur Ironbeard

Brobbet Be Praised, <player>. Within stone he shall find his way before the Grand Tribunal and Brobbet himself. You have done my people a great service. Perhaps no greater service could anyone do and for that we are eternally in your debt. Please, accept this as a small token of our esteem and our thanks.

<player>, I see that you carry the Hammer of Kings! This must mean that you found Lord Dralnok?

  • <You tell him what has transpired.>

Buried in stone at least. Thank Brobbet for that. Were you able to recover the Thom'Dorogath?

  • Lord Dralnok's spirit said he gave it to Ganesh of The Protectorate.

Ganesh? Well, it is hard to believe that the axe is outside of Dwarven hands, but we must be thankful it is at least in the hands of one of The Protectorate.

  • Ganesh can be trusted?

Game Feedback: Gulnor laughs.

How far can a Fiend be trusted, I ask you? However, yes, he was a member of The Protectorate who was sworn to defend the Living Races. He can be trusted.

  • Very well.

There is much at stake here, <player>, and this new situation bears consideration. If indeed there are other Artifacts in the mines then you must return and seek them out. Also, Ganesh must be located and the Thom'Dorogath returned to my people once he has no need for it any longer.

  • It is simply an ancient weapon, is it not?

Speak with Gulnor the Elder in Aughundell and deliver to him the Hammer of Kings

Yes, but it's also much more than that. It's a symbol and an heirloom of my people as well as a Lesser Artifact in its own right. We cannot lose it!

Speak with Gulnor the Elder again about the future

<player>, before you return to the Deep, there is one last thing; You should speak with Gaileach the Dryad if you have not already done so about the Mylocs in the Deep. She may be very interested to hear what you have to say. Brobbet's Justice Be Yours!
