Ancient tombs are being plundered and relics stolen by the Withered Aegis. Cleric Beccan Tandis is concerned that the Symbols of Istara that are located within each tomb may be stolen or destroyed.
Quest text[edit]
Beccan tells you, Good day, Cleric. I have heard that you are investigating ancient tombs here on the Dalimond Peninsula for Paladin Batel, is this so? Good! The infestation of undead in these tombs is a grievous offense to Istara and to our ancestors. And removing their presence is surely the highest priority, but there is another priority that I feel we must address.
Beccan tells you, You see, for centuries humanity has worshipped the goddess Istara. She shelters us and protects us. And so when we die and are buried a piece of her, a relic, is placed within our tomb to continue to protect and shelter us after death. In ancient tombs, particularly those of kings and nobles, these relics were often large and priceless.
Beccan tells you, But, even more than the monetary value of these items is their magical value. You see, these relics were often imbued with magical energies which were meant to protect the tomb in more than just name! With the desecration of these tombs I fear that these relics may fall into the hands of the Withered Aegis and be perverted in their use, or worse be destroyed. Their loss would be incalculable to the Clerical Order and to all of those in Istaria!
Beccan tells you, So you see, <player>, the Clerical Order needs your help at its most dire hour! Travel to these tombs and do Paladin Batel's bidding, for certain, but also while you are there please recover the Symbol of Istara and return them here to me.
