Quest text[edit]

Anarie has been tasked with handing out titles to those who serve the Empire for long periods of time; you are to receive one.

Steps[edit]

  • Anarie looks up at you with a wide smile, gesturing for you to sit next to her..
  • Anarie tells you, <player>, my everlasting friend, please, come sit with me. I'm very glad to see you again; I've been counting down the days until this visit! Reminisce with me.
  • Anarie tells you, You've been here for so long, my friend. Do you ever tire of building the next house or digging the next chamber? I bet you don't. I bet you never grow tired of the endless war, the endless tasks and the constant changing world. Or... maybe you do, sometimes. Maybe you do think about resting your head down and joining the fellows who stood strong during your first years.
  • Anarie chuckles softly to herself, staring up at the wide expanse of sky that stretches over Bristugo..
  • Anarie tells you, But you never did; you never have left us, not for long, and you've kept coming back to me, your old friend Anarie.
  • Anarie tells you, You know, every time I give out a title I'm supposed to give a long speech thanking you for everything you've done and thanking you for continuing to fight. They told me to encourage the Gifted to stick around and pick up arms and go fight, or grab their picks and go forge some armor. Sometimes I wonder if I gave those rousing speeches if all of the young Gifted would've stayed with us.
  • Anarie tells you, It's a silly thought, I know; I doubt I could've done much. Sometimes, though, I just wonder; could I have made that bouncing little hatchling come back if I just encouraged her enough? Would she have grown into her adult form and tasted the air if I just said a few more words? I took this job thinking it'd be an easy side-job among other things, handing out titles and keeping track of appearance dates. It's become a lot more than that to me.
  • Anarie tells you, I want you to think back on your first few days here; when you woke up and found out what Gifted even meant. When you learned of our unending war and our fight for survival. Did you ever think for even a second that you would be here so long later, still ready to fight for hundreds of people you don't even know? Probably not, but I want you to know that everyone in this world depends upon you and others like you to continue doing so; without the experienced Gifted, our world would collapse in a few short days.
  • Anarie tells you, We need strong, helpful Gifted like you to be there to hold the torch for younger generations. Us non-Gifted won't be here forever; we're liable to die at any time from disease or attack. We can't demonstrate battle tactics and risk our lives to teach the youth as easily as you can. We rely on you in more ways than you know, my old friend.
  • Anarie tells you, Enough of my attempt at a rousing speech, now. Let me just say one last thing; thank you for sticking around, <player>. Really - thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's because of you and others like you that I can even gift these titles. Allow me to bestow a title upon you. Anarie the Immortal. Fitting for a Gifted, is it not?
  • Anarie tells you, No; it's fitting for you, Anarie. Fitting just for you. See you in another thousand days, my dear friend. Stay safe and keep your eyes open.
