Giltekh Framtor, Alchemist Extraordinaire received a mysterious letter. In it, he learned that the love of his life and former mentor, Niesa, may not be as dead as everyone believed. He wishes to confirm the authenticity of the letter and if possible locate Niesa.
Quest text[edit]
Giltekh tells you, <player>, I have needs of your particular talents. *he waves a piece of parchment at you* I received a mysterious letter, you see. *if it is a letter, you cannot see as he is waving it so furiously* It speaks of Niesa and claims she still lives! Yet, <player>, there is no signature... How am I to know if it is true if I do not know who wrote it? Oh, if only it were true! *he waves the parchment again*
Giltekh tells you, Where did it come from, <player>? I must know! To make matters worse, I wasn't in camp when Dantor brought the letter on his last supply run. Dekhail was, perhaps she would know more. Let's ask her!
Dekhail tells you, What do I know about that silly letter? Nothing, I'm afraid <player>. It's a letter. Dantor delivered it.
Dekhail says, '*snorts* I do not. If you would know more about it, speak to Dantor.'
Dekhail says, 'Head east, <player>, back across this island towards the Island of Fire. There, between the two islands near a portal, is where you will find Dantor the Scout.'
Giltekh says, 'It is not silly and surely you must know more, Dekhail! *he gestures with the parchment in his hand* I must know who wrote this letter! or who would taunt me so!'
Giltekh says, 'Yes, yes. <player>, surely after all we have accomplished together you would help me? Yes? Please, go speak to Dantor and learn who delivered the letter to him. Please!'
Dantor tells you, A what? A letter? Yes, I remember now... There was a letter amongst the numerous parcels and packages I carried to Giltekh and the others. Supplies, you see, they need them quite often being out there in the driving wind and snow.
Dantor tells you, Who did I get it from? Oh my, let me think. It had been in my possession for some time, I believe. *he snaps his fingers* Aha, I remember now. Well, no, not entirely but enough perhaps to help you.
Dantor tells you, I got the letter from a passing trader. A half-giant, I believe, who passed through here some months ago. The letter was buried beneath some other parcels and things in my tent until I discovered it just the other day and delivered it on my regular jaunt out to the expedition camp.
Dantor tells you, The trader's name? Oh, well, this is the part where I can't help you I'm afraid. I'm not sure I ever heard the trader's name. In fact, I'm not even sure if the trader was a he or a she. It was most certainly a half-giant though! On account of being so tall... That or some freakishly tall human or fiend... or elf. Hm. The blowing winds, you see, make it difficult to hear when folks are all bundled up tightly!
