Having freed Niesa from her enslavement and having defeated her oppressor, Niesa has begun to remember much of what she had once known in life. She has promised to give you the recipe that she claims will deal a great blow to the enemy. First, however, you must help her finish her research.

Quest text[edit]

Aerilya tells you, The Guild of Alchemists looks down their noses at my efforts. Hah! Do you not find that amusing, little one? How could a creature as small as yourself look down its nose at one of us, who rise so far above you?

Nielenoss says, 'Aerilya, do not taunt the Saris so much. they came here for a reason, why else would they have entered my lair? Would you gloat and diminish yourself or would you rise above petty bickering and discord and prove yourself in the eyes of the a member of the Guild?'

Aerilya tells you, You are right, my friend. The Guild tries my patience with their attitude towards Dragons, but that did not excuse my behavior towards you. <player>, I apologize for gloating. I hope we can move past this and discuss your reasons for seeking me out. Would you tell me what you are here to speak of?

Aerilya tells you, Of course I have heard of the Master Alchemist known as Niesa! How could I not? She was one of their greatest, though many in the Guild might dispute the fact. Some may be more skilled at brewing or more meticulous at documentation, but Niesa was one of the brightest of her day when it came to research. Brilliant, one might say!

Aerilya tells you, She is not dead? Truly? Well, well. Escorcelled for all of these years and now continuing her research from within the grasp of the Withered Aegis themselves! A remarkable story and then here you are assisting with her research.

Aerilya tells you, Well, yes, of course I will help. You are seeking catalysts for this potion she is creating. What have you used thus far? Abomination Hearts, Ul'dathos Egg Sacs, Blighted Thornwood Sap, and Nightshade Leaves? Oh my, those are quite powerful ingredients!

Aerilya tells you, I would assume you are not using a standard glass vial for a container, are you? Diamond? Well, well. This brings us to a whole new level of alchemical work! Let me consider this. These ingredients are powerful, yes, but they are all obvious and what you might expect from one of the Naka'duskael.

Aerilya tells you, I do not mean to offend by my statement, <player>! No, I mean that each race on Istaria has a mindset formed by our own environment and experiences. The bipedal races are limited by your point of view and the magical basis upon which you all are taught.

Aerilya tells you, We Dragons, however, have a different point of view and a completely different magical basis on which we learn. Consider for a moment the making of scales or components for our lairs. Consider the differences that my companion here, Nielenoss, introduces with his research into the Gnomian engineering?

Aerilya tells you, There is a substance with which Niesa may not be familiar. A substance that has arisen in Istaria since she has been imprisoned in the deadlands. Azulyte, <player>, the crystalline growths that were spurred by the re-opening of the Gate of Embers. They contain, harness and even enhance magical properties.

Aerilya tells you, Not just any azulyte will work, I would suggest you try for Dark Azulyte. Energize it and I believe you may achieve what you seek. You will need a Dragon to do this, one with a knowledge of Crystalshaping. I will teach any who come speak to me. In the meantime, <player>, here is your energized azulyte to use as a catalyst.

You have received 6 Energized Dark Azulyte.

Niesa tells you, <player>, you have returned. Did you discover something new to use as a catalyst? Energized Dark Azulyte? What is this azulyte? Crystals that have grown since the re-opening of the Gate of Embers? Dragons use them for all manner of construction and manufacturing? Fascinating! And you say that you met a Dragon who studies alchemy? Shocking! Well, let me try this azulyte in our brew.

Niesa is ready to discuss the results..

Niesa tells you, It worked! See how the mixture settled and turned to a shade of gold? I thank you, <player>, for I would never have considered such an exotic ingredient for a catalyst. And would not have had the knowledge to energize it! Well done! Here are the two prototypes for you to test.

You have received 2 King of Potions Draught.
