Ancient Tombs across the Dalimond Peninsula have been desecrated by the Withered Aegis. Archbishop Tomas Agua is very concerned about the possibility that the tomb of Ashlander Vandus, a heroic and legendary figure, may also have been desecrated.
Quest text[edit]
Tomas tells you, Cleric, there is an important matter to discuss. You have proven your worth and heart to Istara and to the Confederation by locating these tombs and removing the undead presence within them. However, there is another tomb that may also have been desecrated that we must investigate.
Tomas tells you, It is the Tomb of Ashlander Vandus himself of which I speak! Yes, The Ashlander Vandus. Founder of the Kingdom of Vandus and the very same human who freed us from slavery and subjugation at the hands of the Dragons. He was buried here on the peninsula and so we must be very sure that his tomb has not suffered the same fate as the others... or a worse fate!
Tomas tells you, Now, I am but the spiritual leader here. For matters more earthly I will leave you in the capable hands of Bishop Ronae il'Tor. He is here in this tower and will assist you in the process of determining the fate of the tomb. Istara Watch Over You!
Ronae tells you, <player>, it is good to meet you at last! I have heard much of your exploits here on the peninsula in recent weeks from the others here in the Tower. I must say that I am most impressed by the skill and daring you have displayed! To have fought against so many of the undead and to have displayed such courage in the face of danger... It is very.... Gifted.
Ronae tells you, To business... The Archbishop has sent you to me to assist you with the matter of the Tomb of Ashlander. It is a most sensitive subject, <player>, and one in which we cannot tarry. Prepare yourself and return to me and we shall begin!
