Dreveon Abbin is concerned. Though he's retired from actively battling the Withered Aegis, he's heard rumors in the local taverns that the Aegis have built well defended strongholds on the Aradoth Peninsula. He's asking you to investigate why these particular locations may be of importance.
Quest text[edit]
Dreveon tells you, Hail and well met, <Player>! From your confident swagger, you seem to be just the person I have been looking for. I can tell by your mannerisms that you are one of The Gifted. Yes, I admit, I have been studying you since your arrival in Dalimond. You can learn a great deal about a person through simple observation.
Dreveon tells you, I moved here to Dalimond some time ago, but retiring does not mean that I don't wish to keep both my my mind and skills sharp! Quite the opposite, now more than ever we all must be diligent and aware. I happened to be spending some time in the tavern here in Dalimond the other evening and overheard a conversation which has me worried.
This is where you come in, <Player>. I need someone who is willing and able to investigate the truth behind some very disturbing rumors. I've heard that the Withered Aegis have fortified strongholds which surround some rather unlikely areas. Rumors have it that they've fortified these areas, and even been seen traveling between them, though such observations are rare enough that I suspect they are just rumor. Speak to the Librarian of Magic here in Dalimond. He was there in the tavern with me. He may have further information about why these areas appear to be so interesting to the Aegis.

Librarian tells you, Ah, yes, what Dreveon says is true. Recently those coming in from the villages and countryside around Dalimond have all reported similar changes in the area known as The Deadpool, for example. This area has not always been called "The Deadpool" of course. Give me a moment, I believe I have a scroll with a map and some information on this area before it was captured and changed by the Aegis.
Librarian tells you, Yes, I found it. Here, we may look at it together, but I am afraid I can not allow you to remove this scroll from here in the archives. It is older than even the most ancient of dragons. This map was made by Trandalaran hundreds of years ago. You see this inlet? This is where Dalimond now stands. And here, this is the dragon city of Chiconis. Here, just to the south, this is the area we now know as "The Deadpool". As you can see from the map, though, it was at this time just a forest. At some point in history a temple was built on this site. I know nothing more but what the map here shows, I'm sorry to say. Return to Dreveon, though. He knows people. I'm sure he'll know of someone who can tell you more about this area.
