Odd Skulk Artifact

You have destroyed the Forest Skulk village near Bayn Hill and reduced the threat against travelers and traders alike on the roads west of Bristugo! During the assault you discovered a strange artifact on the body of a Forest Skulk Elder. Sergeant Jonis is curious about its origins.

Quest text[edit]

Bramdin tells you, <player>, I have been studying the artifact you recovered from the Forest Skulk Elder. It is curious, because the symbols and images on the surface do not appear to be skulk. In fact, the figures on this side *he holds it out towards you to see* appear to be something else.. maybe human or elven. I'm not sure. The markings are familiar as well. I'm sure I've seen them somewhere before. *he shakes his head*

Bramdin tells you, Well, I know of someone who can likely help us learn more about the artifact. His name is Dennison Jadefellow and he is a scholar of some repute on the history of Istaria, but more specifically in the history of the peninsula and of the Vandus Confederation. Take this to him and learn what you can.

You have received 1 Odd Skulk Artifact.

Dennison tells you, Ah, one of the Gifted. What can I do for you this fine day, my young friend? You recovered this pendant from a skulk? You don't say! Well, well. Let me see it then. Perhaps we can glean something about our small, sneaky friends.

Dennison tells you, *he rubs his chin thoughtfully* Yes, yes. Sergeant Jonis was right, these are not Skulk markings or images. See here! *he points at the artifact* These are runes, not just scratches. Centuries ago before the founding of the Vandus Confederation many learned humans used runes when writing. Why? Well, that is what the Dragons used of course!

Dennison tells you, The presence of runes on the pendant means it is most certainly not of skulk origin. And that means it has been looted from one of the tombs scattered across the peninsula! Scavenging the burial places of the dead, a nasty business <player>! One I would expect from the Withered Aegis, but not from skulks. An odd meeting of the two, wouldn't you say?
