The hot lava pools around Char are perfect for creating some of the hardest golems in all of Istaria, hard as in solid, you hope, not hard to defeat. Xerix has sent you to this area, way out near the Tower of Wizardry, to hunt Obsidian Golems.

Quest text[edit]

Destroy twelve (12) Obsidian Golems from near the Tower of Wizardry. Note: Xerix thinks that this "pressure" from you will make the wizards "talk", though what the connection is you aren't quite sure, you need training and he'll only give it if you do what he asks.

Hail <player>! I think you are ready for something other than mercenary work. In fact, I have a task that I think will benefit all of dragon-kind. Or, well, at least many of dragon-kind. Out near the Tower of Wizardry you'll find some Obsidian Golems which seem to grow from the very lava pools that bubble up from deep in the earth. The wizards have been studying where these golems come from, and I suspect they know the answer. But, of course, they won't share. I'm thinking if you put a bit of pressure on their research by destroying some of these golems, they may tell us once and for all where the golems are coming from. So stop wasting time talking to me and get out there! Kill those obsidian golems and be quick about it.

Game Feedback: You have defeated enough golems for Xerix, so return to him for your training.

Speak with Xerix to complete your training!

Welcome back, and well done. This lesson will be brief, after which I suggest you have a nice long soak in a lava pool. The lesson is this: never trust a naka! Remember that, and let it burn in your heart like Drulkar's own spirit. Go now, and meditate on your battles.
