Thurid tells you, I am the Archmage Thurid and I have spells you can only dream about. If you desire spells like mine and if you are powerful and focused you can follow in my footsteps by entering the tower and seeking enlightenment. You are powerful and focused aren't you?

Thurid tells you, What? You're not? Then what are you doing here? I sure hope you haven't spent all your time traipsing around any of those Blighted Islands off the coast of Lesser Aradoth! You'll not learn anything there but how to make a mockery of your skills, thats for sure. Bah! All those little whelps vacationing out there, then coming back and calling themselves Adventurers! Ha! In my day, things were very, very different I tell you. Why, I should tell you about that pompous little urchin from Tazoon that went shooting his mouth off not too long ago. Have you heard about him? No, probably not, but that's a good story.

Thurid tells you, Oh, yes, yes. There was once this little whelp of a Mage who thought he was unstoppable. He went on and on, boasting about how many Fyakki and Necroflies he could kill with nothing more than a single spell. Then one day, he signs up with a group of other Adventurers to go raid the Eastern Deadlands. Not far in, the group came across a Blighted Kwellen with some Elite Blights as guards. Well, the Mage runs in ahead, leaving the Warrior and the Healer way behind. The rest of the group were veterans and were wondering what in Istara's name the Mage was doing, so they just stood there in shock at his ineptitude. But that's not the worst part.

Thurid tells you, The Mage lobbed a Flame Bomb right into the middle of the group, not even scorching the Kwellen's hide. Seeing as how the only spell the Mage knew was Flame Bomb, he was completely helpless after casting it. He had no idea why the enemy patrol was still standing. The patrol turned him into a stain right there on the road, and barely even broke stride. The Mage's remaining group members quickly split up and hid from the patrol until it passed by, then attacked it from behind. They eventually defeated the patrol, then they all walked back to inspect what was left of the Mage. They decided to leave him right there on the road and let his soul return to where it was bound, rather than having such a liability with them. So what's the moral of this story? Don't tell me you need me to point it out. If you need me to do that, then you're just as bad as the bumblebrain Mage!
