Quest text[edit]

Sindenis tells you, So what was Bastea able to tell you about the locket? She found an inscription? May I see it?

Sindenis tells you, Hmm. I wonder if this inscription could have anything to do with the Burning Archer's lover? I do know a fair amount about the legend, but I don't recall ever hearing or reading anything about any kind of locket. There is one other person who might know. Take the locket to Palaikis, the Scholar in Kirasanct. There's a chance he might have read something about a locket in some of his studies.

Palaikis tells you, Hmm. Who has come to disturb my study? Who are you and what brings you here?

Palaikis tells you, A locket? And you think it once belonged to THE Burning Archer? Hahahaha! You must be out of your mind. There's no proof that the Burning Archer even ever existed, but you're convinced you have one of his belongings. A sacred heirloom of his, in fact. No, it can't be. You're just wasting my precious time. Begone before I call for the Sentinels to come take you away.

Palaikis tells you, And why shouldn't I? You are clearly off your gourd Miss, coming in here, insisting that I look at some necklace that you claim comes from some mythological hero! You are thoughtlessly interrupting my work, and keeping me from getting back to it. I fail to see any reason whatsoever why I shouldn't call the Sentinels in here this instant to drag you away. In fact, you haven't even once said please!

Palaikis tells you, Oh. I suppose I have no room to argue now, do I? Well then, hand it over, and lets have a look, shall we?

Palaikis tells you, My word. This is.... This is... No, no... It couldn't b.... But yet.... Miss, I think you may have something here. You see, this inscription on the inside, it's not accurate. It doesn't match the inscription that was mentioned in the legend. Sure it's similar, but of those scholars that spend any time studying this legend, all of them have agreed upon an inscription different than this one here. So, naturally, I assumed that this was a poorly executed fake. However, something else caught my eye.

Palaikis tells you, Alright, now, turn your attention from the inscription, to the jewel setting. This is a very, very old style of jewelry making. This type of setting has not been used for generations. Most jewelers use a slight variation of this method currently, but that has only come around fairly recently. In between then and now, a wholly different method of setting gems was used. If you'd like me to explain some of the differences used in jewelcraft over the years, feel free to stay for some conversation. Otherwise, you can just be on your way and let me get back to my work.

You have received 1 Repaired Shiny Locket.
