As your training progresses, Acolyte Miry expects you to retrieve a new mace to ensure the challenges ahead are more in your favor.
Quest text[edit]
Miry tells you, That is a pretty worn weapon you are carrying. Is it the one you got while on Spirit Isle or maybe something you put together yourself? Surely you could use a new one, a bit of an upgrade. Yes?
- Where would I get a new one?
Miry tells you, From a Militia Surplus Officer, of course! They sell basic armor and weapons that will help you out. You can, of course, craft it yourself or even have another Gifted craft it for you, or even repair it from broken pieces of weaponry you find in chests, from undead or from other intelligent monsters in the wild.
- Sounds complicated.
Miry tells you, It can be, but I would suggest speaking with Officer Frelic and see if he has one in store for you. He should be in his armory, the curved building in the square.
Frelic tells you, Ah - you again. Did you come to buy something from me?
- Well... sort of. Acolyte Miry mentioned you sell weapons, but didn't exactly give me coin.
Frelic tells you, Good grief. Another freebie? I'm not going to have the stock to sell at this point! *He sighs.* I'll get the coin from her later. Hmmm.. and perhaps I can help you a little extra if you can do me a favor.
- And what is that?
Frelic tells you, To restock, I need raw materials. Of course, gathering is a tradesfolk's job, but we are lucky enough to have some living resources on this island! Go and fight some Copper Golems. They roam the fields of Copper and Tin on the road to the Lookout Camp. Pull about fifty Chunks of Unrefined Ore off their corpses and come back to me. Deal?
That should be enough ore for now. Return to Officer Frelic to get your weapon.
Frelic tells you, Welcome back - do you have my metal? Ah! Perfect, thank you.
- And my weapon?
Frelic tells you, Oh, yes. Here you are - a Cudgel of Crushing! This is your only hand out! If you want anything else, you're going to have to buy it.
You have received 1 Cedar Cudgel of Crushing.
Miry tells you, I see you have a new weapon! It looks far better than what you had before. Militia Surplus Officers sell a wide range of items, but it will all be basic. It seems Frelic had a special gift for you in this techniqued weapon. Next time, if you want something special, enchanted even, you're going to have to ask another Gifted or make it yourself. This, of course, will be good for now.
Steps[edit]
- Speak with Acolyte Miry.
- Find and speak to Officer Frelic at the armory in New Trismus Square.
- Find, defeat, and loot enough Copper Golems to give fifty (50) Chunks of Unrefined Ore. The Copper Golems are along the road from the metal refinery to the Lookout Camp.
- Return to Officer Frelic with the Unrefined Ore.
- Return to Acolyte Miry.
