Acolyte Miry wants to educate you on the meaning of damage types.

Miry tells you, Lets give your new cudgel a test. Unlike warriors or scouts, we clerics cannot deal many different kinds of physical damage - we can only deal crush damage with our maces, cudgels, and hammers. With the backing of other schools, we can learn some varied spells, but alone, we must work with crush. Some creatures are resistant to crush, while others are weak to it.
- There are monsters vulnerable to being crushed?
Miry tells you, Oh absolutely! Take the small beetles that roam the island, for example. Their shells are weak to being crushed and shattered. Using a blunt weapon is far better against the beetles than using a bow or sword. Now, compare that to fighting grulets and gruoks who are not weak to crushing, but are weak to piercing. I want you to fight some of both and compare the damage your cudgel does.
- Where can I find them?
Miry tells you, Wild Grulets roam the road that exits southeast of town, amidst the flax and past the farm. Small Loricatus Beetles roam the Southern Shore on the southeastern part of this island. I want you to defeat three of each.
You have defeated the grulets. Return to Acolyte Miry once you have defeated the beetles as well.

Miry tells you, Well done, Elteria. How did you fare? The grulets were annoying, were they not? In the future, it may be helpful to you to learn some mage to learn damage conversion spells. These infuse your weapons with the power of flame, ice, or energy, allowing you to deal arcane damage with your physical weapons. For now, we must work with crush and a trusty cudgel!

- Defeat three (3) Wild Grulets southeast of town past the farm.
- Defeat three (3) Small Loricatus Beetles along the Southern Shore.
- Return to Acolyte Miry.
