Quest text[edit]

Miry tells you, Hello again, Gifted. Are you ready to learn more? This may be the most complex thing yet! To some, anyway. You see, when you first learn any adventure school, you gain the knowledge of stances. Stances are passive bonuses that can assist your combat - from increasing your attack speed, to bolstering your defense.

  • Which should I use?

Miry tells you, There is no one true answer to that. It is up to what you feel is best. However, some abilities have different effects while in different stances. Early on, you learned the ability Smash. This ability might seem weak, but if you look at it closer you'll notice that it does two things. First, it gives a debuff to your target that lowers their crush resistance.

  • What good is that?

Miry tells you, Do you recall our discussion before about vulnerabilities and resistances? Well, smash will make the target weaker to attacks that do crushing damage. Which, fortunately for you, is most of your attacks since you use a crushing weapon! In addition, smash also does more damage while you are in the offensive stance.

  • -- Continue --

Miry tells you, I want you to use Offensive Stance and Smash on the Wriggling Masses nearby the Lookout Camp. You might've passed them as you were heading to the Agh'kuk Scouts last time.

You have used Offensive Stance! Now use Smash and go kill those Maggots.

That should be enough uses of Smash to satisfy Acolyte Miry.

That's enough maggots. You can still hear the wet writhing in your ears...

Miry tells you, Maggots, certainly not an enemy I enjoy fighting or even looking at. Aside from the undead, they are probably the ickiest things on the island. However, they're a nice big target to practice important skills on, and that's all I can ask for!

  • -- Continue --

Miry tells you, Before I leave you, be sure and look over each ability you have and learn their special benefits. Not all make use of Offensive Stance and you should be aware of the differences. Instant Heal, for example, heals better while you are in Focused Stance.
