Deadlands

Deadlands are the blighted, corrupt places in Istaria home to the Withered Aegis. They are known to spread and spontaneously appear with the help of a Blight Anchor.
Deadlands appear as large black areas on the map, which corresponds to the color of the land. No real plant life can grow there, and the only trees that are left standing are colorless and lifeless. Deadlands can range from being very simple, such as the New Trismus Deadlands, to very complex like the Eastern Deadlands. All are equally dangerous and should be treated as such.
No on-level person should enter a deadland alone. A group is almost always necessary to ensure safety. However, higher-level players can probably survive for a time on their own accords.
The Deadlands are currently static to where they rest; at one time, they would grow or shrink and conquer major cities. The gifted could fight off the undead and destroy the blight anchors to regain control of the land, but the threat was always there. In current times, the blight & deadlands are stagnant, but the blight anchors have recently decided to try again and have appeared out of their enviroment...
