Dralnok, King of the Dwarves, has been lost for almost twenty years. Arghur the Brown was the last dwarf in Aughundell to see him alive and that was at a place called the Dwarven Barrows.

Quest text[edit]

Speak with Arghur the Brown

I'm afraid that is all I know, <player>. When I last saw the King and the Iron Guard they were fiercely engaged in battle amongst the barrows.

  • Then I should look there first.

Yes, you should head to the barrows for signs of the King. I would not expect you to find him there, but you may find clues among the mounds. The Barrows lie along the road north of the Battlefield near the community of Rihki. Good luck.

Seek out the Barrows along the road north of the Aughundell Battlefield beyond the community of Rihki

Game Feedback: You have located the Barrows of the Dwarves. Search the mounds for signs of the battle the Iron Guard fought here.

Search the westernmost barrow near the crossroads. Hint: Look for a barrow with a cross on it.

Game Feedback: You found the westernmost barrow, but you see nothing other than a cross and a pile of stones.

Search the northernmost barrow near the cliffside. Hint: Look for a barrow with a cross on it.

Game Feedback: You found the northernmost barrow, but you see nothing other than a fallen pile of stones and a cross.

Search the easternmost barrow along the road. Hint: Look for a barrow with a cross on it across the road.

Game Feedback: Feedback: You have found the easternmost barrow, but you see nothing other than a pair of crosses and a pile of stones.

Search the southernmost barrow. Hint: Look for a barrow with a cross on it south of the road in the trees.

Game Feedback: You found the southernmost barrow. You spot a gaunt figure walking among the mounds closer to the road. At first, you suspect it is one of the undead, but closer examination reveals an elderly dwarven woman. She turns towards you and beckons.

Speak with the Elderly Dwarf at the Dwarven Barrows

Good day to you, <Adventurer School>. I thank you for sparing my life. My sons are buried here, you know? Three of them, in fact. All died defending our people, two many years before The Siege, and the third, my precious baby boy, fighting with Lord Dralnok and the Iron Guard. I come here from time to time and whisper to Brobbet for justice.

  • Justice?

Do you believe in justice, <player>? We Dwarves do. All things must be in balance, you see, and justice is one way by which that happens. There will be a reckoning for my sons, perhaps you are here to see that it is so? You have the look of a quest about you, yes you do. I know this as I have seen it many many times over my long life. What is it you seek?

  • <You tell her of your search for Lord Dralnok.>

Speak with the Elderly Dwarf

Lord Dralnok's fate? That is a great quest indeed! A quest worthy of the greatest of the Gifted, a quest worthy of Brobbet and of Justice. Two great battles have been fought on this very soil, <player>. The more recent, nigh twenty years ago, was fought by the Iron Guard and Lord Dralnok after the lifting of The Siege. Unfortunately, the King is not buried here and you will find no sign of him, for the Iron Guard won the battle and pressed on in a mighty hurry. Where they headed I do not know.

Return to Arghur and tell him of the Barrows

Hail, <player>. What did you find at the barrows?

  • <You tell him of your encounter with the Elderly Dwarf>

Speak with Arghur

As I expected, he was not there, but you say that there were signs of battle? He must have been victorious and continued his march. Where he went next, I cannot guess. You should speak with Gulnor. He is the eldest and wisest of our people and may know where to seek Lord Dralnok next.

Speak with Gulnor the Elder in Aughundell

Ah, a noble quest you have! Seeking the fate of Lord Dralnok is a most ambitious task and I wish you the best of luck. Arghur says that you have searched the Barrows and have found signs of battle, but no sign of our Lord. And you are now unsure where to look next. Let me consider this for a moment.
