Dralnok, King of the Dwarves, has been lost for almost twenty years. The Iron Guard and the Dwarven people need your help to discover the fate of their King and recover the heirlooms of his house. The trail has led to Delgarath, an ancient mining camp far to the north and east of Aughundell.

Quest text[edit]

You have my thanks for your help, but how can I help you? You mentioned searching for Lord Dralnok in the mines, but why would you be doing that? He has been gone for many years and you surely did not come all the way out here just to help kill a few undead.

  • <You tell Telmor of your search for Lord Dralnok's Fate>

So, your search led you east from the barrows to this valley. There is not much further east, but you should speak with Sergeant Dylan in Delgarath.

  • What is Delgarath?

Delgarath is a ruined Dwarven village that was used by the undead for many years as a base of operations. With the fighting to the south, the Iron Guard reclaimed the ruins and has been rebuilding and fortifying them. One day we hope to use it as a base from which to attack the Eastern Deadlands themselves!

  • That sounds like a promising lead!

Listen to Corporal Telmor

Perhaps. Remember, speak with Sergeant Dylan. He may have some knowledge of the fate of Lord Dralnok. Follow the Vale of Tears east and then turn north at the Blackhammer Farmstead, if it still stands.

Hail, <player>. Delgarath is a haven from the patrols of the Withered Aegis. Now, what brings you to this lonely and remote outpost?

  • I am seeking news of the fate of Lord Dralnok and the Iron Guard.

A noble quest to be sure! I am afraid you will not discover what you seek here in Delgarath, though Lord Dralnok did indeed pass through this place. You see, Delgarath was the site of a great battle between the Iron Guard and the Withered Aegis. When I arrived with my cohort to begin rebuilding the village, we found many signs of battle though no sign of Lord Dralnok himself.

  • He was here though, with his soldiers?

He was, yes. Have no fear, <player>, for all is not lost!

  • I don't understand.

Game Feedback: He laughs.

Many centuries ago my people came to this place and began mining for there was a wealth of gems, ores and stone. With the coming of the Withered Aegis, Hadan the Elder, then King of the Dwarves, had the mine entrance collapsed.

  • If the path leads into this mine, Lord Dralnok excavated it?

We thought the mine safe from the Aegis, for what need do they have of precious gems or metallic ores. Unfortunately, scouts sent here reported a great pit and it was for that reason that I was sent to reclaim and rebuild the outpost and to discover by whom and for what reason the mine was reopened.

  • What did you discover?

Speak with Sergeant Dylan in Delgarath about Lord Dralnok's Fate. Hint: To reach Delgarath travel east through the Vale of Tears until you reach the Blackhammer Farmstead. From there take the road north.

That the entrance to the mine has been open for far longer than we believed. Based on the state we found the entrance in, my engineers believe that Lord Dralnok found it already open and used it to descend into the depths. Some appear to have been left here above-ground as we found the remains of a number of them. Your path is clear, <player>, but first let us consider your next step.
