Trikoz has asked you to help him in his studies of the enslavement magic Falgut uses and the crystals used to defy it.

Quest text[edit]

Step: Defeat Falgut the Slaver ten (10) times.

Over the many tests of my shards and slivers, I have come across one fatal flaw - the magic is only so strong, <player>. I imagine you may have seen it, but Falgut is able to cut through the magic for just long enough to chain them down again. Holding up a shard to your ally can save them, but if someone can simply dispel the magic, I wonder how feasible the use in fighting this slave trade would be.

  • What would you like me to do?

I wish for you to study the effects of Falgut's re-enslavement. If you are enslaved, or an ally is, try to focus on what exactly cuts through the freedom and binds them to him once more. I must know.

Game Feedback: During these long battles, many of your allies are caught in the enslavement trap, including yourself. However, Falgut appears winded and unable to enslave another for some time. Perhaps this magic is stronger than Trikoz knows.

Step: Return to Trikoz Trek at the Eastern Outpost.

Falgut exerts that much effort to break the enchantment? He is a powerful enemy - perhaps others cannot think to break the magic if he can only do it every so often. This softens the edges of my worries greatly. Thank you, <player>. You have done much for me and I wish there was more I could do for you.

  • You have done much for the people of Istaria, which is all a Gifted could ask for.

That may be true, and honorable, but I believe you deserve more. By the honor bestowed upon me by the Council of Ancients, I deem you <player>, the Breaker of Chains. May you forever be known for your study and efforts against the heinous slavery the Aegis commits.

Game Feedback: Praise be to the savior of the slaves, <player>, Breaker of Chains!
