Vargas is enlisting you once more to help on the front against Reklar's army.

Step: Speak with Vargas.
Ah, the great <player>! Come - we have learned much. Reklar does indeed pull power from the blight magic around him, much like other creatures utilizing its power. His pull, however, is much stronger - almost reliant on the magic of the Blight to 'survive'. It empowers him greatly. This, along with the tablet that you found, have provided great insight into the past, though much remains mysterious.
- What did it say?
Not much. It appeared to be communications between Reklar and his followers, perhaps before the Aegis rose. Reklar promised his followers revenge and power - the power to subjugate all the 'lesser' races in the world to do the bidding of dragons. So long as much of the land was left to the Aegis, dragons would remain above all.
- So the Aegis used his rage against him?
Yes! And he got his wish - but not how he expected it. He is able to subjugate the lesser races - and even his own - with the ethereal shards, but only to create more pawns for his army, which is ultimately that of the Withered Aegis. A sick fate. How Reklar turned from simply angry at his failures to turning his back on his kind in favor for such an insane deal, unfortunately, is unclear. It is believed that he perhaps drove himself mad - began to twist his mind to believe he was always in control, as those who fell from grace do.
- He went mad?
Step: Defeat General Reklar Plaguebearer ten (10) times.
We don't truly know. We may never know, <player>, sadly. However, the knowledge is still very valuable. The allies of the Aegis will always be mysterious in their own way. All we can do for now is suppress his efforts - show him that he does NOT rule over anyone!
Game Feedback: As Reklar falls in battle again, you almost feel a sort of pity. What sort of knowledge could this ancient veteran have impaired upon his kind had he not fallen into the clutches of the Aegis?
