You recovered an Amulet of Power from Ferrun Isle for the Grand Magus, but it failed to free him from his icy prison and his spirit remains bound to the place of his death.
Quest text[edit]
Magus tells you, <player>, the amulet did not free me from my prison. I had hoped its power alone might be sufficient, but alas it was not and I remain bound. Your effort on my behalf have been extraordinary and for that I am grateful.
Magus tells you, I believe I may have the key to unlocking this prison. It is my remains, <player>! They are still here in this place where I perished all those many centuries ago. The Mountain God won't free me until my remains lay close to him.
Magus tells you, My remains are here near this very building. Collect them and then carry them to an island west of here with a large cross on it. Once there, bury my remains near the cross so that I might lay with the Mountain God forever.

Magus tells you, You have returned, but I am still imprisoned. I fear it did not work. Perhaps the Mountain God abandoned my people long ago when the darkness swept over the waters. Perhaps we strayed from his path. I doubt I will ever know.

- Talk to Grand Magus
- Collect the remains of the Grand Magus from the bonepile outside his fortress.
- Locate Cross Island west of the Island of Ice.
- 26796 / 32083 (map)
- Stand next to the cross on Cross Island.
- 26603 / 32084 (map)
- Bury the Grand Magus' remains near the cross on Cross Island.
- 'use' the Remains of the Grand Magus
- Return to the Grand Magus on the Island of Ice.
- Talk to the Grand Magus
