Fabric

Unspun Fiber is the raw material from which Fabric Spools are created. These in turn are used to create cloth armor, containers, and building products. Unspun Fiber is harvested from plants of the same name using a Harvest Knife and the Foraging skill or the Dragon Ingenuity ability. Kenaf can be harvested from live sheep as well.

Fabric Spools are produced by the Gatherer, Outfitter, Tailor, and Weaver schools using the Spinning skill at a Fabric Distaff.

It is in turn used to create:

• Certain types of armor.
• Building materials for Biped plots.

Beginner Fabrics (Tier 1&2)

These fabrics are spun from their respective plants using the Beginner Fabric Spool formula, a Fabric Distaff, and the Spinning skill (which must be at least the minimum skill of the material you want to work with). It is suggested that you use tools made from materials equal to or greater than the tier you are crafting with. The level range for the beginner formula is 1-40; at level 40, you may scribe the Journeyman formula.

Flax

The Tier 1 fabric is called Flax. It can be found all around Istaria's Loom on Genevia Island, Fabric Isle to the south and north ends, south of Kion, northeast of the Lakes of Crystal Tears on the Lesser Aradoth, southeast of Sable Coast, all around western Dalimond, and near Vagrant's Rest. As is going to be with the rest of this resource, Fabric Isle is likely the best spot to gather flax. It has possible player structures and also a world machine. Plus, it is unguarded.

Kenaf

The Tier 2 fabric is called Kenaf. It can be found scattered throughout Scorpion Island (near Kenaf Port, on the western 'arm', all about the mountain's base. northwest of Bridgehold), scattered around but concentrated at the southwestern corner of the Abandoned Island, Fabric Isle, west of the Dalimond Ridge along the coastline, between Duskhold and Heather, north of South March, near the Spire, and north of Chiconis along the way to Selen. As is going to be with the rest of this resource, Fabric Isle is likely the best spot to gather from.

Journeyman Fabrics (Tier 3&4)

These fabrics are spun from their respective plants using the Journeyman Fabric Spool formula (you must have at least 400 Spinning skill to scribe this formula!), a Fabric Distaff, and the Spinning skill (which must be at least the minimum skill of the material you want to work with). It is suggested that you use tools made from materials equal to or greater than the tier you are crafting with. The level range for the journeyman formula is 40-80; at level 80, you may scribe the Expert formula.

Cotton

The Tier 3 fabric is Cotton. It can be found on Fabric Isle, southwest, south, and southeast of Mahagra, between Aughundell and Heather guarded by Spiders, northeast of Harton Valley, in the Valley of Repose, and south of South Gate. Again, as is going to be with the rest of this resource, Fabric Isle is likely the best spot to gather from.

It is worth noting that on the Order shard, someone has kindly built an expert clothworking shop in the nearby plot to the cotton spawn at Valley of Repose - the cotton spawns in abundant and bountiful (rich/motherlode) out here and there is nothing to kill you, so this may be the best option now. You will need to complete quests to attune out here, though.

Silk

The Tier 4 fabric is Silk. It can be found on Fabric Isle, southwest of Aughundell, north of Selen Forest, and north-northeast of Last Stand. As is going to be with the rest of this resource, Fabric Isle is likely the best spot to gather from.

Expert Fabric (Tier 5)

This fabric is spun from its respective plant using the Expert Fabric Spool formula (you must have at least 800 Spinning skill to scribe this formula!), a Fabric Distaff, and the Spinning skill (which must be at least the minimum skill of the material you want to work with). It is suggested that you use tools made from materials equal to or greater than the tier you are crafting with. The level range for the expert formula is 80-100; at level 100, you may scribe the Master formula.

Ironsilk

The Tier 5 fabric is Ironsilk. It is found on Fabric Isle, north of Last Stand, nearby Meadowhill, and throughout the Spiritous Swamp guarded by various monsters. As is going to be with the rest of this resource, Fabric Isle is likely the best spot to gather from.

Master Fabric (Tier 6)

This fabric is spun from its respective plant using the Master Fabric Spool formula (you must have at least 1000 Spinning skill to scribe this formula!), a Fabric Distaff, and the Spinning skill (which must be at least the minimum skill of the material you want to work with). It is suggested that you use tools made from materials equal to or greater than the tier you are crafting with.
