Your investigation into the cause of the explosion that devastated the city of Tazoon has led you to the ruins of the Great Market where a number of residents who perished have risen as spirits. Your hope is that one or more of them may offer you information about the events leading up to the explosion.

Quest text

You have my thanks, Monk. While my people are in danger I cannot find peace, but perhaps others can. You have helped me and mine, perhaps I can help you?

• I am seeking information about the explosion that destroyed the city and killed so many.

The explosion. Oh yes, I recall that day clearly as if it were seared into my very being. So much is lost when you die, <player>, but memories, especially strong ones, are retained.

• You remember the day of the explosion?

As clear as day. I was walking back to the compound after eating my lunch. I often sat and watched the grand fountains over lunch, you see. They were truly a sight to behold, but now... a travesty.

• Then what happened?

Yes, yes. My apologies, the memories of the fountains are quite vivid. Where was I? Oh, yes, I wasn't far from the teleport gate and I spied two hooded figures lurking nearby with large bags in their hands.

• That sounds very suspicious, why didn't you report it?

In retrospect it does, <player>, but I had no reason to be suspicious. Who would? In fact, I thought nothing of it because they could have been taking goods from the market to wherever they were headed. Tazoon was the greatest city in Aradoth!

• You're right, I am sorry for accusing you.

Please do not worry yourself over it. Another benefit to being dead, I have no emotions to contend with. As I was saying, a few minutes later the gate exploded in a brilliant blast of light and heat and then, suddenly, I found myself standing here as you see me now.

You're welcome, <player>. I am sorry I could not be of more help. Hooded figures weren't common around Tazoon, I should have been more observant.

• You did fine under the circumstances.

Brilthor's suggestion to track down hooded figures is a good one. Cultists around the region wear hoods, maybe it was one of them. Sergeant Gortan Silvershield might know more about that. You should speak with him.

It is kind of you to say. Nevertheless, I hope you are able to locate what you seek. Hooded figures are not common so perhaps track that down?

Did you discover anything about the ghosts at the Great Bazaar?

• They are the spirits of some of those who died at Feladan-in-Exile.

Oh. Well, many died so I am not surprised a few would return as lost spirits.
