Instructor Karkath is the Dragon Adventurer trainer for the Skalkaar hatchling tutorial for new dragon characters.
He is the first NPC for new dragons to implicate that some quests and dialogue must be triggered by speaking to (or greeting, with G) a second time after the first dialogue box pops up. This is a common trait that occurs all throughout the game.
Karkath is the fighting instructor on Skalkaar and is a large, red adult male dragon. He will further explain what the Gift is; specifically, where it came from.
