Quest text[edit]

Step:Speak with Pratt

As you know from Spirit Isle, there are four basic adventure schools. If I'm correct, you are currently in the Paladin school but you may swap at any time, and have as many schools as you want.

  • Is there any downside?

Yes - as you join more schools, you may find it harder to gain experience in each school. Your collective power is defined by your rating. Only by your rating can you determine how much experience you may gain from slaying monsters.

  • Why should I bother multischooling then?

So long as you are not training every school at once, your rating will not become a problem, so do not fear! Additional schools can improve your attributes and skills in ways your current school may not. Also, you may retain memory of abilities earned in other schools, improving your prowess, in a process called mastering.

  • So what now?

Most Gifted choose a path to follow and pick up additional schools that are beneficial to that path. You know the basics of what each base school entails, but soon, you might want to consider how it can help you in other ways. For now, I ask that you find and speak to the trainers of each on this island - Sadie the Scout, Sergeant Gaedin the Warrior, Ulaven the Mage, and Acolyte Miry the Cleric.

Step: Speak to Sergeant Gaedin

Hello, Saris. Were you sent by Tristan? Is he well? We could use his sword these days. He is a Blademaster of The Brotherhood, did you know that? As I said, his blade could be put to use. Did you say he was well?

  • I'm not sure.

No matter, <player>. We will make do without his sword. We may have solidified a frontline, but the war is never over. At least we have an influx of new recruits! You could always join them too if you like.

Step: Speak to Sadie

A new Gifted! Welcome. Are you here to become a scout? I'm pleased to see more potential recruits on this island. Our numbers have been swelling! I just wish it was for a more pleasant reason. The undead are foul beings and I have seen my share of them here on the island as well as many years ago in Feladan.

  • I haven't fought them yet.

Oh? Well, you will. Of that I am sure. Now, however, I am here to train new recruits and to ensure they are prepared for the battles ahead. You have met Trinket, yes? She was a fantastic shot. Could have used one like her in Feladan, it's such a shame she lost her sight, but she never lost her spirit for scouting.

Step: Speak to Acolyte Miry

Ah, Saris, are you hurt? I can mend your wounds, but you will have to speak to an Imperial Mender for poisons. No? Oh! I see, you are a Gifted. It is exciting to see so many Gifted arriving each day, heading off to fight the good fight. So exciting! My superiors in the Clerical Order sent me here to welcome and train all that I could and, well, I hope I am up for it.

  • You seem new to it all.

Well, I am. New, well, to training. I've been a cleric for some time now, but I've never trained many Gifted. Speaking of, I am quite busy with these recruits, but if you are ever interested in learning some healing spells, please seek me out.

Step: Speak to Ulaven the Mage

Oh-ho-ho! A new mage, maybe? I'm glad you came out here to find me. I've been shunned out of town ever since the fires broke out! Come on, who lets Mages train in their walls and not expect a fire?

  • You set fire to one of the buildings?!

I did no such thing, that is slander! I merely... ah... produced a bit of smoke and maybe some sparks. That rug needed to be aired out anyway, I tell you! Well, erm... okay, maybe it was a small fire, but it was in the name of research. How else is an upstanding member of The Enclave of Mages supposed to practice and make new discoveries without a little experimentation? Now, if you ever want to learn some fire magic on the side, come find me!

Step: Return to Pratt

I see you found all of the adventurer trainers! Very good. You know most from Spirit Isle, but there is likely more to learn from the veterans on this island. If you wish, you may return to the trainers to hone your skills. Additionally, if you do not wish to be in the Paladin school, simply speak to the trainer of your choice. All trainers allow you to change or join schools.

  • What about trade schools?

If you speak to me again, I'll gladly direct you to our tradeskill trainers. For now, however, we are looking to get able bodies in the field against the undying plague on this island. When you are ready, I will be here to put you to work properly.

Steps[edit]

  • Speak with Pratt.
  • Speak to Sergeant Gaedin the Warrior Trainer. He trains his recruits outside of the square to the south.
  • Speak to Sadie the Scout Trainer. She practices her aim at the firing range behind the armory.
  • Speak to Acolyte Miry. She and her recruits assist the Cliffside Camp.
  • Speak to Ulaven the Mage Trainer. He trains his recruits outside of town, near the Cliff Camp. It is accessible by taking the path northwest out of the main town.
  • Return to Pratt in New Trismus Square.
