Niesa, once a famed Alchemist, was enslaved by the Withered Aegis for many years. You came to her aid and created a potion that destroyed the Slave Bonds that tied her spirit to the Cabal. However, she remains one of the undead and now she fears retribution by her enslaver. Now you seek the whereabouts of the creature who imprisoned her. Your search has led you to Akkator at the Eastern Outpost who encountered Falgut the Slaver many years ago.

Quest text[edit]

Akkator tells you, Then the Gifted came, <player>! Found me, carried me back to Harro, healed my leg. They fought and pushed the enemy away from the gates. For a time they even drove them back into the deadlands. I do not even know the name of my savior, only that I owe the Gifted my life.

Akkator tells you, That is what I know of Falgut the Slaver, <player>. As for the Tower of Bonds, I know no more than anyone else. I have never seen it and have only heard rumors of it. *his gaze wanders and he appears lost in thought* *when he speaks, it is almost a whisper* There was another who survived that terrible day, <player>. Terry, Captain of the Harro Guard. Speak to him. Now, leave me, please.

Terry tells you, <school>, one of the Gifted is always welcome at the gates of Harro. What can we do for you?

Terry tells you, Akkator? Now that is a name I have not heard in some time. We served together, you know. Oh, it was years ago but he and others fought to protect Harro from the Withered Aegis. He was gravely injured in a tumultuous battle nearly a decade or more ago. I heard from him not long after while he was in Tazoon to recuperate, but he must have been transferred and I lost track. The Eastern Outpost? Indeed! That is good to hear.

Terry tells you, Falgut the Slaver? **he frowns and he glances at the other guards* Yes, I know of the creature. What is it to you? Why do you want to seek out something so foul?

Terry tells you, Forgive my reminisce, back to the foulness at hand. Since being stationed at Harro and having witnessed more than one siege first-hand, I have made it my place to learn all I can about the lieutenants of the Cabal. Falgut the Slaver stands high in the ranks of a faction known as The Invae. Led by the Lord of Flesh, The Invae contain many of the abominations, aegror and other foul constructs the armies of the Withered Aegis employ.

Terry tells you, This creature, Falgut, is a particularly nasty abomination and has made his base of operations at an equally foul ruin known as the Tower of Bonds. It is an ancient tower located within the Eastern Deadlands on a rise and engulfed on all sides by massive thorns.

Terry tells you, Patience, my friend! I advise caution before you run to attack this creature. You see, he is more than a simple abomination. He is a high-ranking lieutenant of the Lord of Flesh himself and a lesser member of the Cabal. He is surrounded by powerful allies and also aided by powerful magics.

Terry tells you, Some years ago, I received word that former guardsmen and stalwart defenders of Harro may still be alive and imprisoned at the Tower of Bonds. I gathered a force of some five hundred soldiers and we marched into the deadlands. Oh, this was before the coming of Daknor and Fafnir so the lands to the south and east were mostly empty in those days.

Terry tells you, We fought our way to the base of the Tower only to be confronted by the slaver himself! We were defeated and fewer than one hundred of us reached Harro alive. *he slams his fist into his thigh* Some of my men may still be alive in that pit of hell!

Terry tells you, Believe me when I say, <player>, that we were not over-matched in arms by this foe. No! It was the magic surrounding and protecting Falgut himself that defeated us. As he approached the front ranks they simply... stopped. Their weapons hung from their limp hands, their spells died on their lips, and they were taken by the enemy without resistance.

Terry tells you, The middle ranks began to suffer the same fate as Falgut drove into the midst of us and it was at this point that my reserves broke and ran. I survived, not because I am a coward, but because I was on the left flank and too far from Falgut to be ensnared.
