Quest text[edit]

Tinod tells you, <player>, I need your help! No, the gates of Rachival are safer for the moment. Thanks to you! But, I have a letter I need carried south to my cousin, Noncas Fizzlebot, in Aughundell. Could you do that for me please?

You have received 1 Letter for Noncas Fizzlebot.

Noncas tells you, Hullo, <player>, what brings you here to Aughundell? A letter from Tinod? Well, well. Thank you. *he opens and quickly reads the letter* Well, Well! It would seem that more than a simple thanks are in order for you. Tinod tells it all in here; how you saved the outpost, the Mage Tower, and perhaps all of northern Aradoth.

Noncas tells you, It would seem, <player>, that you can be trusted with tasks of great importance. *he rubs his chin thoughtfully* I have a project I have been working on. Perhaps you would be interested in assisting me?

Noncas tells you, You would?!?! Well! *he claps his hands* Let us get started! It is a long and arduous process, I fear. But, I have it all up in here *he taps his forehead* so it should be painless. First, you will need to retrieve the blueprints for my device, er project, from Finagle in Delgarath. You know where Delgarath is, yes? East, <player>, beyond the battlefields near the Abandoned Shore.

Finagle tells you, Never a dull moment around here, <player>! No siree! Blueprints? No, I can't think of... Oh! THOSE Blueprints! Yes, I have them. Just a moment. *he digs around in a very piled and cluttered chest* Ah, here we are. Quite the project, this. Best of luck!

You have received 1 Noncas' Blueprints.

Noncas tells you, The blueprints! Wonderful. Finagle has always been so disorganized and forgetful, I was hoping he hadn't misplaced them! But, you have them here so the day is saved.

Noncas tells you, Now, <player>, let us continue. *he pores over the blueprints* Yes, we must next make the Casing and internal mechanicals. For that you will need to speak with another friend of mine, Gangaf Tagley. He's in Dalimond. Go there, tell him I need an Mithril Casing. He'll know what you mean. I also need some Mithril Gears and Springs.

Gangaf tells you, Welcome to Dalimond, <player>. Always good to see a fellow tinkerer. What can I do for you? You come from Noncas do you? Well, anything for my old friend. A Casing? Interesting. He is working on a new project then, is he? Well, I have just the thing. Mithril, you say? Here you are, <player>, plans for how to make a casing. Best of luck!

You have received 1 Expert Metal Casing.

You have created the necessary springs..

Noncas tells you, Good, good! Yes, these will do nicely <player>. Now, the final part of the project is the fuel conversion source. For this device you will need four flame-imbued shining essence orbs. If you don't know how to make them, go purchase the formula from my friend Jalthor here in Augundell.

You have created the necessary imbued orbs..

Noncas tells you, You have the orbs? Well done! Yes, these will do. Give me a moment to complete the device, <player>.

Noncas tells you, Ah, yes, there we are. Completed and it looks quite good if I do say so. Now, <player>, we'll need to test it out. This will not be an easy task though I fear. You will need to test it against a monster that attacks with fire. So, travel to the Island of Fire which is off the coast of the Frozen Peninsula and use the device at least twice. Then fight and kill five Pyrios Beetles. Return to me when with the results. Oh, <player>, don't forget that you will need Class 5 Recharge Cells to power the device!

You have received 1 Prototype Fiery Defense Device.

Well done, you have used the device successfully!.

Noncas tells you, Was the test successful, <player>? The device protects you and also boosts the strength of your flame? Yes? Excellent! *he cheers* Well, I am extremely pleased and now I can formalize these plans. In the meantime, here is a token of my appreciation.

You have received 1 Technique: Tool: Inventor's Assistant.
