Alis tells you, Hello, <player>, what brings you out on this lonely road? Seeing the sights? King's Cross is an old crossroads, but can be dangerous even in the best of times.
Alis tells you, King's Cross? Oh, well, it was founded nearly two centuries ago when the Vandus Confederation was in its hey-day and the road from Dalimond to South March, called the King's Way, was built. This place had, at one time, an Inn and a Barracks and even a contingent of militia. Times change, eh? What with the rise of Tazoon and other places in the Empire travel has fallen for many years. Now it is just me guarding this crossroads. And a dull posting it is!
