Sadie wants to see how good you are at staying on your feet.

Quest text[edit]

Sadie tells you, Glad to see you back for some training, <player>. Spirit Isle can only teach you so much. Here, the real challenge begins.

  • Sounds exciting.

Sadie tells you, *She laughs* You sure don't sound very excited. Let's start off with something basic. As a Scout, you cannot cast most healing spells, and you can't cast any without the help of a class with knowledge of Life or Nature skill on your side.

  • That's concerning. How do I stay alive?

Sadie tells you, Us Scouts have our own way of keeping on our feet. You should now know Combat Triage. This ability lets us assess ourselves and recover some health during a battle to stay on our feet longer. I want you to try it out and prove to me that you can stay alive.

  • -- Continue --

Sadie tells you, I want you to go and slay five Brown Wolves. They roam the forest south of the main town, between it and Trueheart Rise. Be sure to use Combat Triage - wolves are notorious for doing lots of damage.

You have defeated the wolves! Return to Sadie once you have practiced with Combat Triage enough.

That should be enough practice with Combat Triage for Sadie's purposes. Return to her once you've killed enough wolves.

Sadie tells you, Ah, welcome back, <player>! I could hear the howls from here. I hope all went well.

  • It did. However, I am Gifted now - beyond being unpleasant, is dying such a big deal?

Sadie tells you, Good question! Until you are rating twenty, you won't have any penalty for dying outside of having to run back to battle. While that's inconvenient, in the future, you may have to eat to recover from multiple deaths. Over time, you'll gain more and more of a penalty for dying without rest. Go talk to Devan Teater in town if you want to learn more about that.
