Shau grieves for the wife he loves and was forced to kill. He wishes to assist her in the afterlife by providing her with gifts of appeasement that she can give to Varrantoth to help sway his decision about her fate.
Quest text[edit]
The third of the three items I require is a stave of oak wood, but I also need it to be fired so that it is harder than normal.
- What do you need it for?
I'm not as young as I appear, Saris. I intend to use it as a walking stick, of course. Perhaps you can speak to a woodworker within the army camped just beyond the Ruin.
What a wonder magic is, don't you agree <player>? I cut down the trees, the Dryads make them grow again. Wondrous. So, what can I do for you?
- I need a stave made of wood.
That is it? Give me a few moments and I'll make you one in a jiffy. For the army, I assume...
Here you are, <player>. With this you can do many things, the least of which would be to smash it over the head of some of those Welger tearing up the great city of Tazoon!
Be quick, <player>. The army just submitted a requisition for fifty swords and twenty-five helms so I am quite busy. What do you need?
- Can you fire this stave for me?
Yes, I can. That shouldn't take but a moment.
This stave hardened up very well, <player>. It should serve you well now.
Steps[edit]
- Speak with Taiwen
- Obtain a stave of oak from the Mathoor the lumberjack who is found east of the Imperial Army Camp
- Fire the Stave of Oak at the forge outside the Imperial Army Camp. Speak to Adan the Blacksmith
- Return to Taiwen within the Ruin of Tazoon with the stave of oak
