It was only recently discovered that the werewolves on Balit's Island are not the only pack in Istaria. Another pack of werewolves lives on a small frozen island off the eastern coast of Trandalar. Istarians call them Winter Werewolves because of their white coats and the region in which they live.
Quest text[edit]
Kill eight (8) Greater Winter Werewolves. Hint: Off the eastern edge of Trandalar is a small island that has become known as Werewolf Island because of the Winter Werewolves that have made their home there.
We once thought that it was only on Balit's Island that werewolves would be found, but adventurers have recently been reporting seeing weres in other locations. A small island off the coast of Trandalar, for example, is home to a pack of werewolves with fur as white as the very snow they walk on. You've become quite good at evaluating the power and capabilities of different enemies, and so I would like your opinion on these "Winter Werewolves", as they're being called. Like always, twenty combats with them where you come out the winner seems to be a good evaluation of your abilities compared to the abilites they have.
Game Feedback: These are most assuredly more powerful than the werewolves on Balit's Island. You'll have to talk with Rykhar, though, to decide just how much more powerful.

Hm, I see. There is actually one other pack of what may be these same sort of creatures, but they are on the mainland, not isolated to a small island. Though from what I've heard, you are not nearly up to facing them just yet. Let us continue your training in Spiked Scales and perhaps in the future I'll send you to evaluate them.
