Rank Badge

Quest Text[edit]

Grizelian tells you, You say you found these badges only on the Risen Adepts in the Chiconis Battlefield? This is curious. Very curious indeed. Wintheria is correct, there are subtle differences in the badges. But I don't know that they are any indication of different ranks among the adepts themselves. The differences are simply too subtle to indicate any sort of rank structure. Most often in a hierarchy of rank, you'll find that the symbols will differ, or the color, or size, it varies depending on the society. But the differences are always obvious and easily seen, if not always understood, by all. With the badges you found, it would seem that the differences are perhaps just an indication of the maker, or that they were personalized for some reason, but there is no clear marking of hierarchy. Not from the badges you've brought me, at least. Ah, but I digress. You did not come to me for a lecture on the rank badges of various Istarian societies, now did you? You came looking for information about a leader.

Wintheria tells you, So Grizelian confirmed what I had suspected. Let me review a map of the area for a moment and I will suggest where to look for a leader.

Wintheria tells you, It is not as easy to determine where a leader may be commanding from as I hoped. From this map, there's no sensible command center, almost as if the commander were actually elsewhere. The best I can tell you is that there appears to be a high point right around here. You've marked a lookout tower on the map. Perhaps that's where the leader commands from. From what we've learned from the rank badges, I believe you're looking for one with the title of "Commander" or "Captain".

The commander lays dead at your feet. Hopefully now the remaining haunts around the battlefield will return to rest and peace will return once more to the area..

Wintheria tells you, You have done well, (name). Your service today will be not be forgotten. To know that our slain kindred may rest in peace once again is a comfort. I will send word to Jeffery of your assistance this day. Grizelian and I have also worked together to infuse this crystal with the power of his blessing. Unfortunately the crystal could not hold the full power of the spell, but our hope is that you are able to use the crystal in future battles against the Aegis.

You have received 1 Crystal of Grizelian's Blessing.

Steps[edit]

  1. Talk to Wintheria about where one who is leading forces on the battlefield may be found
  2. Give Wintheria a moment to review the map. (~10 seconds)
  3. Seek out one who leads the forces which have invaded the Chiconis Battlefield. Wintheria believes that he calls himself "Commander" or "Captain" as a title.
  4. Return to Wintheria and report the death of Commander Turclid.
