The Commissioner's Day Off

The Commissioner for the Summer Festival wants some time off and feels he's well earned it. But representatives from some of the races have still failed to show up and offer their help for the festival and his wife wants to know why. He'll reward you if you can find the answer.

Festival tells you, It's hard to believe that summer is here already and that the time has come for the Pax Istaria Festival! I feel like I've been working for months on all the preparations, and now it is finally here. I think that I deserve some time off for all I've done, but my wife has a problem, and that means I have a problem.
Festival tells you, You see, my wife expected a representative from every one of the Gifted races in Istaria to send a representative to help with the festival. And it seems that a few are, well, missing. There are no dwarves, satyr, sslik or dragons who have arrived to help with the festival. And so my wife wants me to find out why. But I need a day off! So if you go find out from someone of each of those races why no one showed up to help, I'll provide you with the pattern for this lovely painting behind me. It is suitable for decorating either a banner or a lair mural, and I'm sure would look lovely wherever you call home.
Jarthur tells you, The Pax Istaria Festival, you say? Oh, that's the one on New Koraelia, isn't it. I am sorry, I thought someone was planning to attend that this year. We've all been so busy planning for a fall festival that I guess no one had time. Tell the Commissioner that we'll be there next year.
Rengarth tells you, Why didn't any Satyr attend the festival? That's quite simple, actually. We didn't look good in costume and the costume was made mandatory for all who would help out. At least, I couldn't convince anyone that they looked good it in, and so this year no one attended. Tell the Commissioner that if he hadn't made the wearing of the "official shirt" mandatory, I would have attended myself.
Rentalem tells you, Oh yes, I was aware of a festival on New Koraelia. And we were invited to attend. There was actually quite a bit of discussion as to whether it would be appropriate or not for we dragons to attend. And the conclusion is simple.... we couldn't agree in time to send someone. And so since the two sides couldn't reach an agreement, nothing happened. Tell the Commissioner that we'll attempt to reach an agreement on the matter by next year.
Kerrak tells you, There's a festival happening on New Koraelia? This is the first I've heard of such a thing. I can tell you for certain that no one in the town of Sslanisss recieved an invitation. All such official correspondance passess by me, and thusss I would have known.
Festival tells you, I suppose the dwarves have a good excuse, after all I know what a chore festival planning is. But to not attend because of a costume? And not be able to reach enough of an agreement to at least do something? I can't believe it. About those Sslik, though. Please, I beg you, don't tell my wife! I'll be certain to send them something special from the festival and deliver their invitation for next year myself! As promised, here is your reward for finding out what happened. It isn't your fault that some of the races didn't send a representative, after all.

Steps[edit]
- Go to Aughundell and talk to one of the dwarves there to see why no dwarf showed up to help with the festival.
- Next speak to Rengarth at Satyr Camp in Feladan. Rengarth usually knows about what is happening with the Satyr to know if there are any problems.
- Talk to Rentalem next. Guards always know what's going on with the dragons. He'd be a good one to talk to about the situation with the dragons.
- Scale-Guard Kerrak, a guard in Sslanis, watches everything that happens in the small city. He should know why the Sslik did not attend the festival.
- Head back to Commissioner and explain to him what happened with each of the races.
