Your efforts have at last paid off! You have slain the High Priest of Telak, ensuring that the Cult will be leaderless. On the High Priest's body you discovered a letter and it is the contents that have Guard-Captain Bixben Lindnottin concerned.
Quest text[edit]
Bixben tells you, <Player>, this letter cannot be true! Yet I fear it may be... The Cult has infiltrated every facet of Gnomian society, we cannot allow it to destroy us!
Bixben tells you, It--It says... That they are amongst us. B-but... where? *he glances about nervously* And whom? *he frowns*
Bixben tells you, We must be careful, <Player>. Anyone could be a traitor. *he glances around and lowers his voice* Ulairi... No, not a traitor. He would never betray his own people! Speak with him about this. Quietly!
Ulairi tells you, <Player>, what can I do for you? The Cult? Fools, that is what they are. Telak is no friend of the Gnomes, never has been. The ancient records said that he was fascinated by what his machines could do and used us to make them. He cared little for our well-being!
Ulairi tells you, Infiltrators? What?! *he glances around* Fools, gear-dazzled fools! Let me think about this for a moment...
Ulairi tells you, <Player>, I saw some faces earlier around back of town that I hadn't seen in a few weeks. Thought they had moved away or been sent away, till the Mayor said something about one of them going missing.
Ulairi tells you, The next day, I saw them huddled together speaking in hushed tones. Downright suspicious it was! Check around back... You may find them there!
Ulairi was right; there they are!
That appears to be all of them. Mayor Lem Berenrick should know about these traitors..
Lem tells you, You again... I hear you killed the High Priest. I should have thought of that.... Uh... thanks are in order I suppose. That's not all?
Lem tells you, Infiltrators in my town?! What is this about? Explain it all to me... *he listens as you explain the Letter and Ulairi's involvement*
Lem tells you, Well... I never. <Player>, you have surprised me. I am rarely surprised! And you have saved the town. *he rubs his chin* I never thought I would do this, but you have my thanks and the thanks of every loyal Gnome in New Rachival! Please, take this with our eternal gratitude!
Steps[edit]
- Listen to Bixben.
- Speak to Ulairi quietly about the Cult infiltrators in New Rachival.
- Check around back of town for the suspicious Gnomes. (Walk through the gap in the wall behind Ulairi)
- Kill the Cult Infiltrators!
- Speak to Mayor Lem Berenrick about the Cult infiltration.
