The Cult of Nazderon has spread its influence far and wide across the deserts south of the Ruin of Tazoon. You have disrupted a second ritual, but only after Nazderon was returned to the Prime Plane by his Cult. Now you must find a way to defeat Nazderon for good!
Quest text[edit]
Stromba tells you, Your actions have been the highlight thus far, <player>. My own actions, I fear, have not been as successful. While you were engaged with the High Priest and Magadi Guards of the Cult I led a force consisting of members of the Enclave and also of the Imperial Army against Nazderon.
So he is defeated?
Stromba tells you, If only that were true, <player>. Nazderon appeared impervious to every attack that was thrown at him, physical or magical. We even had a BattleMaster with us and Nazderon shrugged off even his most powerful breath attacks!
Yet you survived!
Stromba tells you, Barely and only through sheer luck, I am not ashamed to admit. When the BattleMaster fell, Nazderon began to gloat which gave the rest of us time to flee for our lives. It was cowardly, I admit, but the sight of such a mighty dragon being felled so easily filled us all with dismay.
What can be done then?
Stromba tells you, Nazderon is protected by some type of magic, of that I am sure. It is not any magic that I am familiar with, unfortunately, which makes me wonder if it is of the Withered Aegis or some other source.
Could it be Welger magic?
Stromba tells you, Welger? I suppose it could be, that is most certainly foreign to myself and the others in the Enclave. Unfortunately, <player>, even if it was Welger magic how would we identify it or, even more importantly, fight against it?
If it is Welger magic, we could speak with Shau.
Stromba tells you, Shau? Who or what is Shau? And what does it have to do with the Welger and Nazderon?
Shau is the fallen emperor of the Welger. He and I have had dealings.
Stromba tells you, Oh. Well, if you think this Shau is trustworthy and could, and would, potentially help us in our fight against Nazderon then I suppose it is worth a try. May Istara watch over you, <player>. Good luck.

- Speak with Shau, the fallen emperor of the Welger, about Nazderon's magical protections
