The Rift, or also called the Void, is a planar world between the Primes. Dragons that are doing the Ancient Rite of Passage, a Dragon Epic quest, can get there and damage the denizens when they either use the Focus of Spirit ability, or their Rune of Teleportation. They need to go to the Rift to kill the four Guardians, and Elial the Mercenary. You can reach the Rift through the portal located at Gate of Embers.
