The Cult of Nazderon has spread its influence far and wide across the deserts south of the Ruin of Tazoon. You defeated Shau's wife, Taur-el, in arena combat and she returned with you to meet her husband. Unfortunately she turned out to be an assassin and Shau was forced to kill her. Fortunately, he gave you the BattleStone and now you have returned to Kaiyar ready to do battle!
Quest text[edit]
Well, <player>, you have the BattleStone and I suspect you are eager to take the fight to Nazderon. I have examined this BattleStone and, aside from the fascinating magic it employs, I believe it must be socketed into a weapon in order to function properly.
- I am ready to defeat Nazderon.
Your enthusiasm is admirable, my friend. Here, take the stone and proceed back to the Grand Sandstorm and the Temple of Nazderon. Istara's Grace be with you, <player>.
The Mage-King has been defeated and his evil power is no more! At least for now. His body vanishes in the wind with the sands of the desert.
Nazderon shouts, 'It is not over, Gifted! I will return! Aaaaah.....'
The body of Brienaire lies atop the altar. She appears to have been sacrificed, but for what purpose you do not know.

- Nazderon is defeated!
Incredible! Astounding! You are a marvel, <player>. You have put a great many minds at ease with your actions today! ...I can tell by the look on your face there is more you wish to say. What concerns you?
- Brienaire had already been sacrificed on the altar...
That is unfortunate news. Sacrificed you say? That bodes ill, to be sure. This Welger magic is blood-magic so her blood surely fueled some ritual spell, but what could it be? Without some inside knowledge or direct evidence I fear we may never know, <player>.
- There is no way to discern it?
Not with any certainty, no. Do not worry yourself, my friend. You have done a great thing this day and whatever may come from this ritual spell, it will surely wait until tomorrow. For now, revel in your victory and take your ease! Oh and take this as well, a gift from the Enclave of Mages.

Steps[edit]
- Listen to Stromba
- Travel into the sands southwest of Kaiyar, locate the third ritual site near the Temple of Nazderon
- 23220/24312(map)
- Defeat Nazderon at the third ritual site! Remember to socket the Battlestone into a weapon to ignore Nazderon's use of the Welger Blood-magic. You can expect a difficult battle: you should bring friends with you.
- Examine the body on the altar at the Temple of Nazderon
- Return to Stromba Stonehand in Kaiyar with word of your victory and news of Brienaire's fate
- Speak with Stromba
