The Cult of Akkinelos has begun infiltrating the valley and Sentinel-Guide Lemnus worries that those who have been infected with the plague will spread further and wider if not contained quickly.
Quest text[edit]
Lemnus: <Player>, good, we have need of your assistance! Sentinel Irus spotted something that might prove of interest in our efforts to stop the Cult. Speak with her at once.
Irus: Your help has been appreciated, <Player>. Those cultists and their plague are dangerous. The cultists themselves often come close to the outpost, but rarely do we see any actual priests of Akkinelos.
- Well, we have had a stroke of luck! Earlier I observed a number of priests further out in the valley and they appeared to exhibit similar symptoms to the cultists. I suspect they too are infected by this plague!
- Worse, however, was that they all were carrying some device. I am unsure what to call it, but it was a charm of some sort they wore. It seemed important enough to mention. I recommend acquiring a number of them for study!
You have looted sufficient phylacteries from the Afflicted Priests. Return to Lemnus!
Irus: These things are foul, <Player>. I fear I may acquire this plague if I hold them for too long. Can you feel the taint? Please, quickly take these to Elmit.
Elmit: *Elmit examines a phylactery* Yes, yes, they are indeed the source of the plague though they are not actively spreading it. Otherwise we would already be infected, wouldn't we! *she laughs*
- No, <Player>, I suspect they are merely the carrier of the plague... some magic is about that helps spread it. Perhaps the priests themselves are casting it. Hard to say. I will keep these to study.
Steps[edit]
- Speak with Sentinel Irus at the Frostwatch.
- Acquire ten (10) Phylacteries from the Afflicted Priests near in the Hoarfrost Vale.
- Return to Sentinel-Guide Irus at the Frostwatch with the Phylacteries.
- Speak to Elmit about the Phylacteries.
