Wraith Core |
You recovered a Wraith Core from the Wraith Overlord known as Voullis Anthag. Archwizard Thurid heard of your discovery and wishes to speak with you further about this object of power.
Quest text[edit]
Thurid tells you, Greetings, Ranger, may I have a word? I am Archwizard Thurid, the foremost Wizard in all of Istaria! You will find none better, I assure you of that. You are surely asking yourself what a great and powerful wizard such as I would want from one such as yourself, are you not? Well, I will tell you!
Thurid tells you, You see, I came to this remote outpost to search for many things that have been lost or forgotten by the invasion and the blighting of the land. Which things? No, I do not think you can handle that information at this juncture, nor would I willingly supply it in any case.
Thurid tells you, Now, it has come to my attention that you have recovered an object of some power. What many call a Wraith Core, but which is in reality a phylactery. Are you familiar with the concept? Suffice to say, it is an object used to store and protect something that is precious. In this case the Disgraced Magus, wraiths of immense power, and others of the Cabal known as the Withered Aegis use a phylactery to store their life essence.
Thurid tells you, The interesting and amazing part, <player>, is that you recovered one intact! They are nearly always destroyed in battle if they are present for they are fragile. Indeed, many of the more powerful of the Cabal likely would not keep their phylacteries on their form, but somewhere far away, hidden, and likely very well protected.
Thurid tells you, Disgraced Magus, however, appear to be far less capable of doing this. Perhaps it is proximity to the phylactery that provides them with sufficient essence to continue their nefarious actions. This will require more research and is a fascinating line of thought!
Thurid tells you, Which brings me back to you, <player>. I require more of these phylacteries, or Cores, from the Disgraced Magus of the Deadlands. For each, I will pay you handsomely for it will help further my research and perhaps in time you will be privy to additional knowledge that I might impart.
You've successfully collected Wraith Cores for Archwizard Thurid. Return to the Eastern Outpost..
Thurid tells you, Greetings, <player>, you have returned with the phylacteries? Very good, that sets you a might bit above the other Gifted I have encountered. You can at least follow simple directions. Now, as promised I will take these off your hands and you will be compensated.
You have received 1 Weapon Tech Kit: Thurid's Undead Slayer.
Steps[edit]
- Speak to Archwizard Thurid
- Collect six (6) Wraith Cores from Disgraced Magus of the Eastern Deadlands. Rumor has it that the Disgraced Magus have made camp somewhere south of where most of the other Disgraced Cabal have camped, so you should begin your search there.
- Return to Archwizard Thurid at the Eastern Outpost with the Wraith Cores
