Xerix theory on where golems come from is really "out there", as the hatchlings say. But that doesn't mean you get to not complete his task if you want to be trained further by him. So go to the marble quarry south of Blackhammer Farmstead and defeat 20 Marble Golems.
Quest text[edit]
Defeat 20 Marble Golems to "get a feel" for the material. Marble Golems are found in the marble quarry just south of Blackhammer Farmstead. And remember, no laughing in front of Xerix at his "theory", or he probably won't train you.
The time has come, it seems, to pass on further knowledge. And I think your last theory was quite silly indeed, but I've figured out where golems come from. They're carved and brought to life. By whom I don't yet know. But I've seen artists use marble to carve statues which look so alive that I've thought they've moved, so it is very possible that golems are just that... moving statues. Most artist use marble for carving such statues, so there must be something easy about working with this particular material. I want you to head out to the Aradoth Frontier, there's a small farmstead there called Blackhammer Farmstead. Just south of it are where many will go to mine marble. Use your teeth and claws against the marble golems there. Report back to me how this material compares to other golems you have fought.
Game Feedback: One golem falls much like the last, or so it seems to you. As you suspected, there's nothing to really hold Xerix's "Theory of Golem Creation" together.
Return to Xerix and tell him what you've found. Hopefully he will still agree to train you.
No difference, you say? That's impossible! There must be something special about golems made of marble compared to other types. I should send you back out for more research! Eh, but what good would that do? If you didn't find any good results in the first 20 combats, another 20 probably won't change anything, now will it? So train you I must...
