The city of Tazoon has experienced a terrible fate. BattleMaster Talaurukar was assigned to do a scouting mission and collect some evidence of the magic fallout. However, he has gotten into an argument with the council member and needs somebody else to look around for him. He has given you a list and sends you on your way.

Talaurukar tells you, Ergh! If only Council Representative Kemelata could see reason. We can't just rush in and attack the Welger, we have no idea what they're capable of! Could you try to talk some sense into her? None of my words are getting through; it's like talking to a thickheaded Ruxus.

Kemalata tells you, Ah, sure. Talaurukar thinks I'm trying to have us rush them? No, no, I'm just saying that we need to take advantage while they're still disorientated from the blast. If we don't act soon they're going to end up leaving the ruins one way or another. Surely the BattleMaster can understand, he is a Dragon after all!

Kemelata growls at the BattleMaster, her tail swishing angrily.

Talaurukar tells you, If we attack unprepared we'll surely have casualties, but Kemelata isn't listening. We have no idea what these monsters are capable of, we need to get more information. That's why I'm here, I got orders to scout the area and take some samples so we can learn more about the situation. However I fear if I leave this argument the Council Representative will act rashly and cause issues. Perhaps you could scout the area for me? Here are the orders I got from the Imperial Army.

You gaze at the menacingly swirling whirlpool that has punctured the middle of the once grand city of Tazoon. Everything about this place feels wrong, twisted and unnerving. You pick up a piece of the dome to take back to Talaurukar. Next on the list is examining the remaining destination pad that is located to the northwest.

As you step on the portal pad the bottoms of your feet burn, a sickly feeling comes over you as the ugly magic creeps up your legs. It would probably be best to move! You scribble your findings down on the rune Talaurakar gave you and move on to the next item. He wants a vial of the murky contaminated water and there seems to be a decent sized puddle of it nearby.

The water seems to almost fizzle, laced with the magic fallout. You turn your snout up at it and try to avoid getting any on your scales. Next, he wanted some of the magic fallout residue, best be careful gathering it.

Your claws feel uncomfortable after handling the toxic stuff. You think to yourself that a really good lava bath is absolutely required after this scouting mission. Next up is to examine what remains of the Shrine of Tazoon. You can see more of the strange magic glowing in the northeast. That's probably it!

The shrine has been shattered. More of the strange blue magic creeps on the side of this once beautiful monolith. You think it would be best if you also examined the damage of the spire as well.

As you walk the length of the shattered shrine something catches your eye. The Welger are acting strange around the Sanctuary Portal, almost seems as if... they're trying to fix it. Now that would be bad! Better report this to BattleMaster Talaurukar immediately!


Talaurukar tells you, Oh by Drulkar's grace, tell me it isn't true! If they activate that portal it will be a disaster that could endanger many lives. They can't escape the city, we have to stop them before they invade the mainland.

Steps[edit]

  • Speak to BattleMaster Talaurukar and Kemalata
  • The first order suggests you examine the southern entrance of the Ruin of Tazoon
  • Head directly north from the southern entrance and pick up a Shard of Dome Glass from the destroyed Great Market. You will need to use an Istarian Army Knife or Dragon Intuition ability.
  • Locate the remaining destination pad within the Ruin and step on it. It is located to the northwest of the destroyed Great Market
  • Collect Murky Water Sample from where the canals meet slightly northwest. You will need to use an Istarian Army Knife or Dragon Intuition ability.
  • Harvest five (5) Magic Fallout Residue west of the duct. You will need to use an Istarian Army Knife or Dragon Intuition ability.
  • Locate and examine the strange glowing magic to the northeast around the base of the shrine in the Ruin of Tazoon
  • Examine the spire of the shattered shrine on the bridge nearby
  • Speak to BattleMaster Talaurukar at the Imperial Outpost near the Ruin of Tazoon and report the strange behavior of the Welger near the Sanctuary Portal!
