Quest text[edit]

Wulfgar tells you, When I was a lad, my father handed me a hammer and asked me, "Son, you have a weapon or a tool in your hand, what are you going to do?" I smiled sheepishly and replied, "I'm going to create more of them." So, using the bars in my father's shop, I crafted my first pickaxe, a tool I would use for many years to hone my skills. It aided me in creating whatever weapon or tool I could imagine - one piece of ore at a time.

Wulfgar tells you, Just as I said to my father, I have since created hundreds of hammers - smithing hammers for crafting and real hammers for fighting. A Blacksmith's job is one of the most important jobs you can find in the entirety of Istaria! Without us, the other schools would not have the tools they need to create their own crafts.

Wulfgar tells you, Now, that old pickaxe ain't gonna hold for many more strikes. Since you just gathered up the material needed to make a new one, I suggest you get started. I believe I gave you a formula for the pickaxe in the start kit, correct? Bug me for equipment again if you can't find it.

Wulfgar tells you, By Daggarth's strength! Look at quality. Does the Gift grant you magical crafting abilities as well? Never have I seen such skill put into something made by somebody with such little experience! Well done, <player>.
