To learn the Gift of the Dragons, you must prove yourself in combat. It is one of the most ancient and revered customs and one which the BattleMaster takes the application of quite seriously.

Quest text[edit]

Training, <player>, it is that which separates us from the beasts. It is what will separate you from other hatchlings until they too choose to train. The Dragon's Gift is the reward for the Dragon who trains in all areas, who wishes to become a generalist. To use their claws as well as their magic in battle. Is that what you wish?

I do

It is a most noble goal, obtaining the Dragon's Gift, <player>. You would do well with it, and perhaps you will prove yourself worthy of the gift. Are you worthy? Not yet, I do not think... But I will test you nonetheless according to our ancient traditions.

I am ready

You think you are ready... and perhaps you are, though many who claim to be are not. That is why tradition says to present the petitioner with a challenge. For this challenge you shall test your skills against the wolves. Fast, cunning opponents who will offer no mercy and have no qualms at calling other wolves to their aid. To defeat them you must also be fast and cunning. Are you?

Yes, you will. Greymane Hunters are found south of Kion, <player>. Follow the road south beyond the Scorched Legion, past the garnet golems, until you reach the stone circle. You will see Greymane Seekers along the way, they are not what you seek. Instead, past the stone circle in the trees you will find the hunters. Fight them and then here to me with twelve of their ears.

Well done, hatchling. The ears have no value to me, so you may sell them at the nearest vendor. I merely wanted to present you with a challenge that would test your skills. Congratulations, you have passed this simple trial and I will now teach you the first Gift of the Dragons. Use it wisely, <player>, for it is indeed precious among our people.

Steps[edit]

Speak with BattleMaster Gerix
Loot twelve (12) Greymane Hunter Ears from the wolves found in the edge of the Lesser Aradoth Forest. You can find them by taking the road south of Kion, past the Scorched Legion, beyond the garnet golems, until you reach the stone circle. Greymane Seekers will not be sufficient, you must fight the larger wolves.
Return to Kion with the ears and speak with BattleMaster Gerix

To pass Gerix's test, you must slay 20 of the Bronze Golems found in Kiatar Pass or Miner's Mound. Kiatar Pass is just south of the Deadlands, so be cautious when traveling in that area. Miner's Mound is found beyond it closer to the center of Lesser Aradoth.
