Gerix has sent you out to the fields where treants grow to test your ability to draw one treant away from the others to earn an ability called Dragon's Reach. The treants are to the east of the settlement of Parsinia. If you have not been to Parsinia previously, be sure to speak to the Gatekeeper there to attune to that portal so that in the future the trip is easier.

Good, I can train you if you can pass the trial. South in the forests of Lesser Aradoth you can find treants, towering trees who are alive and protect their section of the forest. Look for the largest of these treants and defeat ten of them. Use your breath on them at least six times for they are vulnerable to fire and I want you to practice taking advantage of an enemy's weaknesses.

Gerix tells you, Yes, yes... Keeping your opponents at bay is a useful skill to know!  Well, I can train you if you can pass my trials. South of here you will find a settlement called Parsinia. There is a Gatekeeper there who can explain how to use the portal to reach Parsinia faster in the future. The cedar treants are found just east of Parsinia. Defeat twenty (20) of these foes and return here to me!  Avoid the saplings, <player>, they will not do!

Excellent work, <player>. Many monsters have vulnerabilities that you can exploit, but you must learn what each is through trial and error. Since treants are made of wood, it is logical that they are also weak to fire. Other enemies, however, are not so easy to decipher and you will need to fight them and test different skills against each to discern their weaknesses. Nevertheless, you have passed the trial, and now you shall learn of the Dragon's Reach.

You have received 1 [[Dragon's Reach I]].

Quest text[edit]

As a Dragon you have become accustomed to using your claws and tail in a fight, even breathing fire on those who stray too close! However, learning to keep your opponents at bay is a useful skill to know as well! Blast your enemies from afar and weaken them before they close the distance and you begin using your claws or tail. I like the sound of that!

Steps[edit]

  • Speak with BattleMaster Gerix
  • Defeat ten (10) Massive Cedar Treants who are found in the forests of Lesser Aradoth. From Kion you can take the road south past the lava flow, turn west at the stone circle, and travel deep into the forest to find the treants. Alternatively you can travel to Parsinia, head north out of the settlement and follow the road when it turns eastward. Past the Forest Crawlers on a ridge you will find the treants.
  • Use your Breath of Fire six (6) times against your opponents
  • Return to BattleMaster Gerix in Kion to continue your training
