BattleMaster Avariatus wants to show you how useful stuns can be.

Quest text[edit]

Speak with BattleMaster Avariatus.

Steady! Balance is an important element for your success. Being able to stand on your hind legs has many advantages in battle. One of which lets you use your tail to forcefully stun your opponent.

  • My tail?

That's right! With the force of your tail, you can knock your enemy out for a few seconds, making it so they are unable to fight back and giving you the upper claw. Tail whip isn't the only option you have, though.

  • Other options?

Along with tail whip, you can also learn spells or abilities that can mesmerize or root your opponent. Tailwhip is a stun, so it will stop every action for a period of time. A mesmerize will also work, but after a few of your hits, they can break free. And a root only keeps them in place and doesn't stop them from attacking.

  • -- Continue ---

You can learn spells such as Primal Chains to root your opponent, and Primal Spark works as a magic alternative to tail whip. But, for now, since tail whip is an innate ability that only needs some practice, I want you to try it out on some Sapling Cedar Treants. You can find them west of Pratt's Pond by the windmill.

Kill four (4) Sapling Cedar Treants west of Pratt's Pond by the windmill.

Game Feedback: Timber! That should be enough treants. Be sure to use your Tail Whip before returning to BattleMaster Avariatus.

Use Tail Whip three (3) times.

Game Feedback: The force of your tail is quite effective. This ability will serve you well. Return to BattleMaster Avariatus once you've killed enough Treants.

Return to BattleMaster Avariatus.

Welcome back. I hope those treants didn't give you too much trouble? Tail whip and other similar abilities and spells can give help out a lot in battle, so be sure to use them often. When you're ready, return to me and we'll continue your training.
