Welcome, welcome, <player>, to my humble shop! As you can see, I have lots for sale and perhaps you are here shopping for something in particular? Yes? A trinket perhaps for your sweetie? I have the finest silk, straight from the shores of Selen. I could part with a bolt or two for someone like you... Oh yes! No, no silk? Well, then... How about a culinary delight? A scrumptuous treat, that will bring pleasure to the taste buds, joy to the nostrils... *cough* and a healthy jingle to my money-purse. I'm talking about pies! Straight from the kitchens of Granny Nuffle. <u>What do you say</u>?

You see, I was expecting a shipment of cut malachites days ago from the town of Parsinia. You are familiar with it, yes? Much profit to be made trading with it. But this shipment is late! And I am losing money each day that it does not arrive. I could use your help, <player>. With all of the recent activity by the undead on the roads I am worried that it may have been delayed or worse... ambushed! If you could track it down and return the shipment here to me I would give you a cut of the profit... say.... 10 percent? No? 20 percent then. No? 25 then and not a point higher!! You <u>drive a hard bargain</u>, <race>.

Welcome to Murrina's shop, <Adventurer School>. You have come to the right place if you are here to find the latest goods this side of the Shadowed Coast! I have it all, Dwarven Ale imported from the distant walls of Aughundell, Ice Crystals from the frozen halls of the Fiends, and even a werewolf bone, collected I am told at great risk from the caves on Werewolf Isle. <u>What do you fancy today</u>?

He may be in trouble, <player>! There are golems up there, I am told. And worse inside the volcano! And the crawlers have become more aggressive of late, patrolling the roads to the mountain. You should check with Sergeant Talinse, he'll know more of the state of things and perhaps of Barridin's whereabouts.

Greetings, <Adventurer School>. I saw you speaking with Murrina. Is there a problem? Barridin you say? Yes, I have begun to worry about his safety myself. He went up to the volcano to mine malachite several days ago. I had planned to search for him myself if he had not returned by sunset. But if you are looking for him, perhaps I need not go. Seek him out near the rim of the volcano. There is a gem mine, he is likely there if he is safe. The path to the volcano lies back the way you came, but it is not safe these days. Crawlers patrol the roads and worse, I have heard reports of the undead. Be careful!

I could use yer help, <player>. See, I haven't finished mining the gems for Murrina. And she'd be sorely upset if I didn't get them fer her. An' with me leg and all... Would ye help me? She needs 100 cut malachite so ye'll likely need about 300 or so uncut. If ye can't mine, you can get it by killing them there golems. Sometimes bits an' pieces fall off.

You have the gems, thank Merrasat! And did you find Old Barridin? Yes? Hurt his leg. Well, better than dead that is for sure. Now, these gems must be taken as quickly as possible to Marcus in Kion. On your way out of town, be sure and let the Sergeant know that Barridin is safe. Off you go!

<player>! You are late! I shall have to dock you at least 5 percent for that. Time is money as they say. My good <race>, you have the gems with you? You had better, or I shall dock you another 5 percent. You do! Good. Oh yes, these will do nicely. You have done well. I believe I promised you a cut of the profit, did I not? Very well. Ten silver plus one silver for the quality, even if you were late. I'm afraid that is all the coin I have on me. Farewell.

You are still here? What do you mean, you want your payment? I gave you eleven silver. That is a king's ransom in these parts! Fair compensation you say. *mutters to himself* Cutting into a Saris' profit... How dare they... Here, take these crystals. I can't sell them, perhaps you can find a better use for them. Now leave my shop!

Quest text[edit]

Listen to Marcus

What do you say?

No pies? Well, if you aren't here for silk and you aren't here for pies, then what are you here for? Work you say? Well, hmm. I'd rather make a profit. But perhaps I do have something you can assist me with. And... yes, it would help me turn a profit. Very good! Work it is.

You drive a hard bargain, <race>.

I will expect my cut gems soon! I would recommend traveling straight-away to Parsinia by the west road and speaking with Murrina, she is the Pawnbroker there. She should know what has happened to the shipment as she handles all cargo in and out of the town. Now go!

Travel to Parsinia and speak with Murrina

Welcome to Murrina's shop, <Adventurer School>. You have come to the right place if you are here to find the latest goods this side of the Shadowed Coast! I have it all, Dwarven Ale imported from the distant walls of Aughundell, Ice Crystals from the frozen halls of the Fiends, and even a werewolf bone, collected I am told at great risk from the caves on Werewolf Isle. What do you fancy today?

Cut gems? How... disappointing and so mundane. Oho! You are here about a shipment for Marcus? Well, you should have said so. Yes, he placed an order for cut malachites a week or more ago. And I passed it along to Barridin, the miner in these parts. Its been on my mind for days now, I have not seen or heard from him. He usually drops by at least once or twice a week, especially on days when I get shipments from the east... He never misses a chance to buy mice from Feladan Forest... they are most tasty, you see?

Listen to Murrina

He may be in trouble, <player>! There are golems up there, I am told. And worse inside the volcano! And the crawlers have become more aggressive of late, patrolling the roads to the mountain. You should check with Sergeant Talinse, he'll know more of the state of things and perhaps of Barridin's whereabouts.

Speak with Sergeant Talinse about Barridin

Be careful!

Seek out the fate of Barridin on the slopes of the volcano called Amu'merras

Hoy there, young'un. What brings ye to the top of this here mighty mountain? Lookin' fer me, you say? Well, you foun' me. I'm right 'chere. Just me an' the gems and them there golems... Nasty buggers, they are. Watch out! They'll smash yer head if ye aren't careful. They liked ter chase me... I'm old, but I'm not that old! HAHAHAH *cough* *cough*

Where was I? Oh yes... the golems. You see, Murrina, Merrasat bless her, asked me ter come up 'chere and mine some gems. Well, she's so purty and I like this mountain so I agreed. Got up here and that there nasty golem... Verdean I calls him. He chased me and I tripped on a pile of gems and rolled down the mountain. Hurt me leg... and me pride!

Speak with Barridin

I could use yer help, <player>. See, I haven't finished mining the gems for Murrina. And she'd be sorely upset if I didn't get them fer her. An' with me leg and all... Would ye help me? She needs 100 cut malachite so ye'll likely need about 300 or so uncut. If ye can't mine, you can get it by killing them there golems. Sometimes bits an' pieces fall off.

Speak with Barridin after you've acquired one-hundred (100) cut malachite gems

Oi, never seen a better looking pile of gems, <player>. Good work! And fast too. Now, 'eres what you do. Drag the gems down to Murrina and she'll take care of you. Hurry now, before the golems come back.

Transport the gems to Murrina in Parsinia

You have the gems, thank Merrasat! And did you find Old Barridin? Yes? Hurt his leg. Well, better than dead that is for sure. Now, these gems must be taken as quickly as possible to Marcus in Kion. On your way out of town, be sure and let the Sergeant know that Barridin is safe. Off you go!

Speak with Sergeant Talinse on your way out of town

<player>, there you are! Did you find Barridin and was he safe? He was? Oh, that is good news. Good news indeed! Did you have any difficulty reaching him? I know the roads are not safe these days. I am trying to organize a patrol for the West Road. We hope to take care of at least the undead, they are the worst I fear. Thank you again and Merrasat protect you!

Transport the cut gems to Marcus in Kion

Farewell.

Get your payment from Marcus. You must have Murrina's Letter of Credit with you to be paid.
