<player>! Has <player> seen an annoying parrot with an eye patch anywhere around here? No? Has <player> LOOKED?! <player> didn't know one was lost, eh... Very well then. Yes! One is lost! Claw-Guard Shasses asked Kerrak to watch Priscilla today. Pets are not <u>permitted</u> on one's duty shift, of course.

Vrex over there usually watches the vile, obnoxious flying rat, but not today!  Today Vrex is cataloging a towering mound of Gnerph Culture midden refuse!  That leaves Kerrak to watch the beast, and the moment Kerrak began doing inner rage meditations, the miserable creature bolted for the trees!

'''Speak with Scale-Guard Kerrak'''

The flying rat is doing this on purpose to sabotage Kerrak's career! Kerrak cannot leave this post unguarded, and Kerrak cannot just let the pest fly away, no matter how pleasing that thought is! It shames Kerrak deeply to ask, but would <player> please find and return Priscilla before the end of Shasses' shift? <player> may be able to find Priscilla around the ruined step-pyramid northwest of the city - many of the vile creatures congregate there.

'''Check around the trees near the ruined step-pyramid northwest of the city.'''

You spot a parrot high in a tree. Oops - it flew away.

Game Feedback: You spot a parrot high in a tree. Oops - it flew away.

You spot a parrot flying overhead. It keeps flying.

'''Where did it go?'''

You spot a parrot with an eye patch sitting on a branch above you. It looks at you and squawks, "Rawwwk!  Look at the silly Gifted !"  It cackles loudly and flies away.

Game Feedback: You spot a parrot flying overhead. It keeps flying.

You haven't seen the parrot with the eye patch for a while. Face it - you're not going to catch anything this way. You need a catapult-launched net or a steam-powered parrot catcher or something like that. Maybe a couple of astounding fireworks and some big globs of gooey maple sap... No, that probably won't end well for the parrot. Perhaps you should head back to Sslanis & see if Kerrak knows who Shasses got the parrot from in the first place.

'''Find out if Scale-Guard Kerrak has any other information you could use.'''

No, Kerrak does not know where Shasses got the parrot. Shasses had that flying rat when Kerrak joined the guard. Shasses sometimes speaks to a Saris ranger, Rialtos, who comes through the jungle on patrol. Ask the Saris for ideas.

'''Ask Rialtos the Wary in Kion about catching the parrot.'''

Catching a parrot is fairly easy. You don't want an actual trap, you'll want to get several light, hard to see nets that are curved into a sort of closed funnel. I'd suggest using three...no, four of them. I can make the nets for you, but each one takes 10 spools of flax. You'll also need some bait - grapes would be fine. Bring me 40 flax spools and 40 grapes, and I'll whip you up some parrot traps.

That will do quite nicely. Give me a moment here... There you are, four brand-new parrot traps. You'll need to string each of them between the branches of a good-sized tree. The trees just outside the north wall of Sslanis should do nicely. If you go north from the arrival pad and around the west end of the wall, you'll run right into them. Be careful of the gruok in the area there - they can get pretty feisty."

Well, at least this will help with maintaining inner rage!  This is unbelievable!  Kerrak's career, reputation, and family honor will be tarnished forever because of this miserable, verminous, despicable flying plague rat!  RAAAARRRGGGGH!!!!!  Kerrak cannot allow that to happen!  <player>, Kerrak must ask another favor. Please take the body to the cleric Trask here in the city. Tell him what has happened, and that Kerrak asks that the little.. darling... be resurrected. Do this, and Kerrak will reward <player> well.

Rrresssurrect a shoulder pet?  Never!  Our resources are stretched thin enough without this foolissshness!  Not even Aelia of Dalimond would waste her time with this, and she's the worst bleeding-heart tree hugger on the face of Istaria!  Be gone!  I have important work to do!

Great, looks like you found everything, and just in time, too!  I found my ambrosia and measured out a piece for her. The barley & wheat needs to be coarsely ground and most of it mixed with the ambrosia. Then you'll dip the seed cone into the mix, coat it thoroughly, and sprinkle any remaining wheat & barley over the top.

Fillet in Sslanis can both grind the grains and mix them into the ambrosia. Take Priscilla and these items to him, quickly!  Oh, and don't give Priscilla anything to eat until the ambrosia treat is done. You don't want to spoil her appetite!

Put together a little snack for Priscilla, eh?  Fillet can do that. Very simple, very easy. Nice bird, Priscilla. Lovely plumage. Ever notice how Priscilla has the same coloring as a nice ripe hot pepper?  Lovely plumage, really... alright, have a look at that!  One parrot ambrosia treat, lightly caramelized to bring out the natural sweetness. Two or three bites of that will kick anyone's attitude up a notch!

Scale-Guard Kerrak of Sslanis was supposed to be taking care of Claw-Guard Shasses' beloved shoulder parrot, Priscilla. Unfortunately, Kerrak's focus was on maintaining inner rage, not Priscilla. She slipped out of Kerrak's grasp and vanished into the jungle surrounding Sslanis. Find her and return her before Shasses gets off duty.

Quest text[edit]

<player>! Has <player> seen an annoying parrot with an eye patch anywhere around here? No? Has <player> LOOKED?! <player> didn't know one was lost, eh... Very well then. Yes! One is lost! Claw-Guard Shasses asked Kerrak to watch Priscilla today. Pets are not permitted on one's duty shift, of course.

Speak with Scale-Guard Kerrak

The flying rat is doing this on purpose to sabotage Kerrak's career! Kerrak cannot leave this post unguarded, and Kerrak cannot just let the pest fly away, no matter how pleasing that thought is! It shames Kerrak deeply to ask, but would <player> please find and return Priscilla before the end of Shasses' shift? <player> may be able to find Priscilla around the ruined step-pyramid northwest of the city - many of the vile creatures congregate there.

Check around the trees near the ruined step-pyramid northwest of the city.

Game Feedback: You spot a parrot high in a tree. Oops - it flew away.

Where did it go?

Game Feedback: You spot a parrot flying overhead. It keeps flying.

It must be here somewhere...

Game Feedback: You spot a parrot with an eye patch sitting on a branch above you. It looks at you and squawks, "Rawwwk! Look at the silly Gifted !". It cackles loudly and flies away.

must...keep...looking...

Game Feedback: You haven't seen the parrot with the eye patch for a while.

Find out if Scale-Guard Kerrak has any other information you could use.

No, Kerrak does not know where Shasses got the parrot. Shasses had that flying rat when Kerrak joined the guard. Shasses sometimes speaks to a Saris ranger, Rialtos, who comes through the jungle on patrol. Ask the Saris for ideas.

Ask Rialtos the Wary in Kion about catching the parrot.

Obtain the resources Rialtos the Wary asked you to make Parrot Traps. You can either gather and craft them by yourself or trade them with a Consigner or another player.

Game Feedback: You have obtained the resources Rialtos asked you. Return to him.

Acquire 40 (fourty) Flax Spools

Game Feedback: You have acquired sufficient Flax Spools.

Acquire 40 (fourty) Grapes

Game Feedback: You have acquired sufficient Grapes.

Return to Rialtos the Wary in Kion with the resources

That will do quite nicely. Give me a moment here... There you are, four brand-new parrot traps. You'll need to string each of them between the branches of a good-sized tree. The trees just outside the north wall of Sslanis should do nicely. If you go north from the arrival pad and around the west end of the wall, you'll run right into them. Be careful of the gruok in the area there - they can get pretty feisty.

Find four trees just that hug the north Sslanis city wall and set up the parrot traps.

Game Feedback: That was the last trap. Now you just have to wait a little while and see if you catch anything.

Deploy the trap on the first tree

Game Feedback: This tree looks suitable. You quickly deploy a parrot trap.

Deploy the trap on the second tree

Game Feedback: This tree looks suitable. You quickly deploy a parrot trap.

Deploy the trap on the third tree

Game Feedback: This tree looks suitable. You quickly deploy a parrot trap.

Deploy the trap on the fourth tree

Game Feedback: This tree looks suitable. You quickly deploy a parrot trap.

Give the traps some time to work, then check back to see what you've caught.

Game Feedback: Maybe you should head back to the traps and see what you've managed to catch.

Check out the first trap

Game Feedback: Parrot, parrot, squirrel, parrot, squirrel - nope, no Priscilla.

Check out the second trap

Game Feedback: Parrot, squirrel, squirrel, parrot, squirrel - nope, no Priscilla.

Check out the third trap

Game Feedback: Parrot, tree frog, squirrel, parrot, parrot, parrot - nope, no Priscilla.

Check out the fourth trap

Game Feedback: Horror! The net slipped from the tree and gruok have attacked the creatures trapped inside! Well, at least you have found Shasses' shoulder parrot.

Protect the creatures trapped in the net from the Gruoks

Game Feedback: You have killed the Gruoks, but you are too late: you can only find the corpse of Priscilla in the net.

Return to Scale-Guard Kerrak with the remains of the shoulder parrot.

<player>, Kerrak must ask another favor. Please take the body to the cleric Trask here in the city. Tell him what has happened, and that Kerrak asks that the little.. darling... be resurrected. Do this, and Kerrak will reward <player> well.

Talk to Trask the Cleric Trainer in Sslanis about resurrecting the shoulder parrot.

Rrresssurrect a shoulder pet? Never! Our resources are stretched thin enough without this foolissshness! Not even Aimilia of Kion would waste her time with this, and she's the worst bleeding-heart tree hugger on the face of Istaria! Be gone! I have important work to do!

Talk to Aimilia the Exalted in Kion and hope that she's a bleeding-heart tree hugger with a soft spot for parrots. Bring the body of Priscilla with you when you speak to her, it might help. She usually is on the pier.

Priscilla? A bunch of gruok killed Priscilla?! Those rotten, lousy, stinking monsters! Those horrible, atrocious vermin! Of course I'll resurrect her! How dare anyone suggest otherwise ! I'll just need a moment of silence...

Give Aimilia the Exalted a moment to treat Priscilla

Game Feedback: Aimilia should have finished now.

Speak to Aimilia the Exalted again

My, she certainly looks like she's had a rough day! You need to get her to eat some ambrosia. We'll need a seed cone from a massive cedar treant and some coarse-ground wheat and slices of apples. You go get that and I'll look for some ambrosia. I think I have a little hidden around here somewhere...

Obtain the resources Aimilia the Exalted asked you for

Game Feedback: You have obtained all you were asked for. Return to Aimilia the Exalted.

Acquire 5 (five) Wheat samples. You can either gather them by yourself or trade them with a Consigner or another player.

Game Feedback: You have acquired sufficient Wheat.

Acquire 5 (five) Apples. You can either gather them by yourself or trade them with a Consigner or another player.

Game Feedback: You have acquired sufficient Apples.

Obtain a Cedar Treant Cone from a Massive Cedar Treant. The Massive Cedar Treants are found in the very center of Lesser Aradoth, near the settlement of Parsinia.

Game Feedback: You have found to be what appears to be a Cedar Treant Cone that will do the trick.

Great, looks like you found everything, and just in time, too! I found my ambrosia and measured out a piece for her. The wheat needs to be coarsely ground and most of it mixed with the ambrosia. Then you'll dip the seed cone into the mix, coat it thoroughly, roll it in slices of apple, and sprinkle any remaining wheat over the top.

Return to Aimilia the Exalted in Kion

Take the seed cone, the wheat, the apples, and the ambrosia piece Aimilia the Exalted gave you to Fillet in Sslanis

Feather-Guard Shasses is off duty soon! Give this to Priscilla and take the bird back to Scale-Guard Kerrak!

Use the Parrot Ambrosia Treat and heal Priscilla.

Game Feedback: Priscilla has been healed! She looks healthy now.

If <player> does not get Priscilla to Scale-Guard Kerrak quickly, all will be for naught!

Praises to Kaasha, <player> has succeeded! Kerrak was beginning to despair! Kerrak hates despair! Despair inflames Kerrak's inner rage and... and... and Kerrak likes it! <player> has shown Kerrak how to find new depths of rage and fury! Kerrak's eyes and blood are as flame! This is glorious!! What? What parrot? Oh, right. Yes, yes, give Kerrak the vermin!

Hurry back to Scale-Guard Kerrak before Feather-Guard Shasses comes back from duty

Kerrak must be rid of that nuisance in order to fully focus on this new wellspring of rage. Yes, yes, Kerrak promises not to nail the flying rat to the perch! Here! Take this and leave! <player> has Kerrak's abundant thanks! Now, GO AWAY!!!!!"

Game Feedback: Success! You have returned Priscilla and earned Kerrak's gratitude - however oddly it may be expressed.
