You found Ranger Kishar and explained the situation to him. He believes the badge you found on the Scorched Legion lieutenant was likely taken from an ancient temple of Merrasat located in the Deep Forest.

Step: Speak to Ranger Kishar
Kishar tells you, Thank you for giving me some time to consider the situation, <player>. The badge you found was most likely stolen from the Temple of Merrasat, an ancient temple that lies further into the forest. The temple has likely been overrun, maybe even blighted, by now. We should investigate further before we send word back to the Militia.
- Where is the Temple?
Kishar tells you, It is located on a mesa here in the forest with a small bridge that can be reached from nearby. The easiest way to find it is to follow this road northwest and then turn south at the ruined guard post. Follow the southeast path at the logging camp. There are cedar trees and last time I was there treants, though they should not attack you. The bridge is on the eastern side of the plateau. I will meet you there.
Step: Meet Ranger Kishar at the bridge...
Kishar tells you, It is good to see you, <player>. I have been watching the temple from afar and becoming more and more outraged by the minute. You can clearly see that the temple has been violated and blighted!
- How could this have happened without the Militia noticing?
Kishar tells you, The temple fell out of regular use centuries ago and I can only assume that even irregular use has slowed or even stopped in more recent times. Perhaps those who visited here fell prey to the undead for we cannot know how long they have infested it. You can clearly see the volcanic vent from here and the lava. I feel it is safe to assume that the Scorched Legion is behind this.
- What do we do now?
Kishar tells you, We must remove their presence from the temple, of course! I am concerned about what defenses the Scorched Legion may have in place or what may lay in store for us if we dare attack outright. We dare not wait, however, for the Relic that lay within is in danger if it still remains intact. Rest, <player>, and prepare while I try and determine what awaits us...

Kishar tells you, I hope you are rested and prepared, <player>, for I have determined that what awaits us will prove to be quite a challenge. The temple has been occupied by a creature known as Atheg the Adept and his followers. Are you ready?

Kishar tells you, Good. Cross the bridge, defeat Atheg and his followers. Recover the Relic of Merrasat and return here to me. Here, take this key. You'll need it if the relic is still there.

Kishar tells you, Well done, <player>! You recovered the Relic and defeated the Scorched Legion who had infested the Temple.

- Speak to Ranger Kishar
- Meet Ranger Kishar at the bridge leading to the Ancient Temple of Merrasat. The temple is located on a mesa in the forest that can be reached by following the road west, then turning south at the ruined guard post. Follow the southeast path at the logging camp. There is a plateau filled with cedar trees and treants and the bridge is on the eastern side.

- Cross the Bridge and enter the Ancient Temple of Merrasat
- Defeat Atheg the Adept and his followers
- Defeat the Risen Adepts (x4) who occupy the Ancient Temple
- Recover the Relic of Merrasat from the Temple Chest
- Return to Ranger Kishar with the Relic
