Jemenoth is teaching you how to make your first dragon claw!

Quest text[edit]

Jemenoth tells you, Well then little one, let us get started. The first thing I'll have you craft will be a dragon claw. Dragon claws are worn over our original claws in order to protect them from breaking or getting too dull. They are used to protect us while we hit as hard as we desire to take down our enemies and happen to be very important for young dragons who want to make a difference in the world! So listen carefully...

Jemenoth tells you, The first thing you need to gather to make a claw for yourself is copper and tin, which can be found down the hill near the lava pool. I want you to gather fifty units of copper and tin and then return to me - and make haste! I'm much too busy to go down there and make sure you didn't break off one of your claws on accident.

---

Malimer tells you, Hey, she sent you to gather copper and tin, right? Well, I know a much more entertaining way to get to the bottom of that hill! If you run off the cliff and jump at the last moment... you can glide down to the bottom. Which is much more enjoyable than just running down! Maybe you can even land in the lava pool!... uh, don't worry, it doesn't burn dragons.

Oh! You wanted directions? Well, speak to me again at any time and I can direct you to all the crafting resources nearby.

(Make sure to continue holding the forward key after jumping so you don't just fall!)

---

You have located the copper and tin! To start gathering just select the resource and hit gather on your action menu..

---

You have successfully gathered 50 units of copper and tin. Return to Jemenoth..

---

Jemenoth tells you, Excellent. Now that you have gathered the copper and tin, you can move onto the next step.

Here, this is a formula used to make metal bars. It's only the beginner metal bar but for now, that's all you need or will understand for now.

You have received 1 Formula: Beginner Metal Bar.

Jemenoth tells you, Go to the proper machine, in this case, the smelter, and open up your knowledge book so you can follow the directions carefully. Craft ten batches of bronze bars and then return to me. The smelter is to my right.

(Right click the formula in your inventory (I) and click scribe. You can find the formula in your knowledge window (K) where you will right or double-click click it and select "Create Bronze Bar". Make sure to click the [ \ ]-looking box near tools in order to "equip" the proper "tool" or, in your case, ability. If you lose the formula, speak with Jemenoth again to get another one.)

---

Jemenoth tells you, Please don't lose your Beginner Metal Bar formula. I only have so many of them and not everyone in your journey is going to hand out these formulas like candy, <player>.

---

You have crafted 10 Bronze Bars! Return to Jemenoth.

---

Jemenoth tells you, Hm, while they may not look very pretty, they will do their job well. The metal is what holds the claws together, but the gems are where the added damage comes from.

For this claw, I require you to head back down the hill and walk a little bit towards Karkath. Before you reach him you should find some garnet outcroppings. I want you to gather thirty units of uncut garnet and return to me.

---

You have gathered the Uncut Garnet! Great! Return to Jemenoth for further instructions.

---

Jemenoth tells you, Alright, it's time for you to process this uncut gem and make it into something a little bit more pleasant to use. There is a gem cutter bench in one of the rooms - the one with the green crystal, on the same side as the smelter. Head down there and process the garnet into six cut gems and once again, return to me.

I've given you the formula for beginner gemcutting. If you lose it, speak to me again, but I don't have an unlimited supply here!

You have received 1 Formula: Beginner Cut Gem.

---

Jemenoth tells you, Again, please don't lose your Beginner Cut Gem formula. I only have so many of them and at some point you'll be buying these formulas with your own coin.

Now go and make me those cut gems, would you?

---

As you enter the branch of the cave, you see a hatchling who eyes you cautiously..

Creena nervously moves her feet and smiles awkwardly..

Creena tells you, H-hello. I'm Creena. I'm a student of Jemenoth... uh. Did you need help? I know a little bit about crafting, for instance, it's usually better to aim for a higher success rate rather than lower resource cost. Also, if you want to make things for the experience but don't want to keep them afterward, you can deconstruct them. You will get some of the resources back and can make even more!

---

You've made the cut gems! Return to Jemenoth or, if you want, speak with Creena if you haven't already.

---

Jemenoth tells you, Oh, I can see improvement in your work already! Someday if you keep practicing I'm sure you will become a grandmaster crafter, which is the highest title one can receive in this field.

Jemenoth chuckles and hands you the formula..

Jemenoth tells you, Now that you have the bars and the gems, you can finally craft the claw! Now, be sure to pay careful attention to the shape of it, as my mother always said... "A badly shaped claw can lead to a badly shaped paw!"

Go to the dragon scale forge here in my lair, to my left, but if you ever find yourself in a situation without a scale forge, a biped's anvil will work just as well.

You have received 1 Formula: Skalkaar Dragon Claw.

---

Jemenoth tells you, These formulas aren't cheap, <player>... someday you'll shill out a full gold for the best ones. Please don't get into the habit of losing them.

---

You have crafted your first claw, congratulations! Return with it to Jemenoth.

---

Jemenoth tells you, Oh not bad, not bad at all for your first claw... It has a nice shape and looks fairly sturdy! Very well done, <player>.

(You can equip the claw by double clicking it in your inventory or by dragging it onto the claw slot in your equipment window (Control+E by default).)
