Apepi the architect was betrayed and interred beneath the pyramid. The magic of the Withered Aegis has disturbed his rest and he asks you to give the others who were interred with him the rest that has been stolen.

<race>, come closer. I do not know why I am returned, but I am not alive... am I dead? I think I am, but then how can I speak and walk and see?
- You have been returned by the power of necromancy.
Yes, I think so too. A foul magic, it is, but one practiced even in my time, however long ago that was. I was once, I think, an architect of Senef. Do you know the name?
- I do not.
Senef was one of the greatest of the Saris builders, his name is surely spoken of alongside that of Galt or even Imtep. Nevertheless, we served Senef and he was hired to build the pyramids of the great city of Mellohndar. You have heard of it, yes?
- Yes, but it was destroyed long ago.
Destroyed, you say? A shame, it was a beautiful city, but its people were ruled by fear and the power of necromancy. We built grand palaces for the living and towering pyramids for the dead. It was a monument to the knowledge of the Saris!
- How did you come to be here then?
We finished the city, <player>, and Nazderon praised us for our greatness. He promised that our legend would endure for a thousand years! Then he turned and with a wave of his hand, drew the life from Senef.
- He murdered him in public?
Yes, but it was not uncommon. He was prone to bouts of rage and even madness. He ordered the rest of us to build a pyramid into which we would inter Senef. The corrupt monstrosity you see behind me is what we built, but once it was complete and Senef had been interred beneath it, Nazderon had the rest of us sacrificed and buried with him.
- I am sorry.
